Hey guys. Looking at picking up some te37s for my 99 gsx. However before I drop 3600$ on wheels, I'd like to know if you can squeeze an 18x9 in the rear of a 2gb? No drop, still stock height. 35mm offset as well. The fronts are 18x8 with a 30mm offset, I don't think I'll have a problem fitting those.

Thanks guys!

sure the wheels will fit, but what size tire? I run a 19x10.5 +27 Volk GT-7 in the rear, and a 19x8 + 35 in the front.

They will fit no problem. Why go staggered though? It's hard to match up tire diameter when doing staggered so you don't eff up your drivetrain. Btw, there is a search button...typing in "fit 18x9 wheels" or something like that brought up some results that would have answered your question I believe or at least pointed you to other threads that would have. Just do 18x9 +35 all around and you won't have any problems except may having to roll your fenders somewhat. And please don't say you wouldn't have the money to do so because if you have 3600 to drop on wheels, you can spend an extra 100 or so to get your fenders rolled.

The only time "staggered" wheel widths should come up in Handling Tech is when the wider wheels are on the front. Otherwise, the thread should be in Appearance.

If your car is AWD, not a good idea to go staggered. This could cause problems with the drivetrain down the road, (as mentioned above) since you have all 4 wheels being driven at all times, as opposed to just two in a FWD or RWD configuration.

FYI: on a lowered suspension I was experiencing wheel rubbing on a 17 X 8 with 235/55/R17 tires. I forget what offest they were though. I'd imagine if you're still running stock right height and depending on the offsets and tire ratio, you'd be alright with a wide rim.

I run staggerd, after much research the important thing to me and my VC is O.D., with the current tire sizing currently on the car, I'M +/- 3 tenths of an inch front to back, and +2/- tenths off of stock O.D. well within the factory slop built into the VC. which is 8mm +/-. Also being that close to Stock O.D. makes fitment so much easier.

Would I recommend this for a DD? nope I run a 235/35/19 front, and a 265/30/19 rear ventus v12 evo, and trust me I feel everything.

This is a common but false belief. There is absolutely nothing wrong with staggered wheel and tires sizes on AWD (as shown by Porsche inter alia). Problems only arise when the diameters of tires don't match the gearing of the center diff and transfer case. We have a center diff and transfer case geared for equal-sized tires, so any pair of equal-sized tires will be fine, regardless of width.

My point about staggering in favor of the front was because DSMs are front-heavy pigs, not because they are AWD.

30 fits fine. I don't rub with 235 on 17x9 +29 and my car is too low as is.

they will fit no problem you should keep it 18x8 for front and rear or 18x9 front and rear

Is the AWD 50/50 front and rear. I know BMW is 38/62 or something random like that. I could understand going staggered on that but if it's 50/50 like the Audis I'd stay same front and rear. It may look odd if you do it too, so I'd suggest seeing if you can find pics of a car set up like that.
