I can't get my 16g to compress to turbine housing. I can not find a c-clamp big enouph to get around the whole thing. It is like brand new. I don't know of any machine shops around hear to get it compressed. Any ideas? Please know that your help is greatly appriciated.
Thanks

Make sure you are aligning the pin correctly.also make sure its not hittign the turbine itself if the factory clamp wont fit it you dont have it on corectly:thumbdown

No, thats not the problem, The stock clamp fits fine and pin lines up but when yo try to put it together theres a quater inch gap between compreser and turbine hous. I need something to compress it. A c-clamp won't fit.
Thanks

Something dosent sound right , Ive had a 14b thru a hahn super 20g apart and back together and never had to press on any part . Are you talking about the center cartrige is a 1/4" from the turbine housing from letting the clamp go on?

( you could tap it onto place with a rubber mallet) it wont hurt much just dont #### it wrong as to bend the blades

There is not suppose to be a gap at all between the compreser and the turbine housing write??? My 14b does not have a gap at all. On the 16g it lines up corectly and pin goes in but wont fit completely tight.

yea, no gap at all just send it home with a rubber mallet just dont have it at a bad angle , tap it in circles to make it go on even, dotn hit it too hard as to break the aluminum doh!OMG

Already tried it, but I'll think of something. I was just making sure that there was not suppose to be a gap because someone told me that there was suppose to be one. Thanks for help though. If you think of any other way to compress it then let me know.:thumb:

I used a piece of brass rod (1/2" diameter) used for hitting stuff you dont want to mar up, and i got it at an angle on where the flange is clamped and tapped it down with that. I did that method when I was upgrading my 14b to a 16g , I only bought the compressor & center cartrige.
If that dont work you can go to home depot and buy a hugantic c clamp
and if that dotn work , your screwed:p

This turbo you are working on , did any piece of it used to belong to a 13g? if it is you need to buy a diffrent turbine,
Thaught id add that before you destroy your turbo
