16g with external gate

I've been saving for a 50 trim recently.
I've accumulated an external gate Tial welded onto a 2g manifold. A tubular o2 with wastegate hole blocked off.

But recently, I've been having fun road racing, and I'm not quite sure if my horsepower goals are the same as they used to be.
Is there any performance gain from using an external gate with a 16g?

I don't know if I should just sell what I have to buy the evo 16g or just wait to buy the 16g and use the existing parts I have.

An external gate will always control boost better than an internal regardless of the turbo it's on. It will decrease spool time by holding shut longer than an internal gate and protect against creep and major spiking. So no it won't be a waste on a 16g.
 
Also, I didnt want to jack anyone's thread, but I did read them, and I know they're about 16gs too.

I suppose my question is a money/performance question.
Would "you" keep the external, knowing how much it costs, the o2 and so forth?
