Hello guys, I'm new to the dsm world, I look forward to learning from you all! So my question is, what all do I need to upgrade to run a 16g turbo, I'm not looking to make crazy HP, I just want a little more than stock power. My stock turbo just went out and needs replaced, so I figured now's the Time to upgrade. Also I'm not trying to spend crazy amount of money but I do want to do it right, I don't want to upgrade anything that doesn't require it. Thanks you guys.

Welcome! Before any modification is done, maintenance is key. Timing belt, balance shaft belt, water pump, basically the entire timing system should be replaced unless you know (and trust) the previous owner's maintenance schedule. Maintenance is the key to any healthy build. Once all that is out of the way, then we have some handy articles here (https://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/basic-horsepower-ugrades-2g-4g63t.480196/) that can serve as direction to point you to the mods/power levels you're looking for.

Edit: I should add our vendors, like extreme psi, sell 16G install kits for 2Gs, which would get the turbo installed. I'd recommend adding a boost controller in there to ensure you don't make too much boost because a 16G will outflow a T25 and I'm not sure how well the stock fueling system handles beyond 15psi on a T25, let alone 20+ on a 16G.

Welcome! I take it it’s a 99? Please fill out your profile when you have a moment.

Maintenance is key as these car are old at this point. Timing belt service is crucial along with inspecting the balancer/crank pulley. That should be #1 on your priority list. If any fail, piston and valve will say “hello, how you doin?”
