I have a 92 TSI AWD and the turbo on it seems good still (14b). I am getting ready to put it up for the winter and do some work on it. I was wanting to know whether you guys thank i should get a 16g turbo. If i did get it, what would i need to make it run real nice. I am not wanting to run too extremely fast, i just want some more power. I was thinking of getting the 16g turbo, FMIC, replacing headgasket to a metal one, getiing the boost, A/f guage, manual boost controller, and a full 3" exhaust made from the turbo back. I was wanting to run like 15lbs of boost. I would want to run more, but in Illinois the price for premium right now is like $2.25 a gallon and any more boost would guzzle the gas. Is this a pretty good setup.

Let Me Know, Anthony

IF your not wanting to turn up the boost then i wouldn't bother with the16g
a 14b would be just awesome with 15psi. there are somany other mods you could spend the 550 that a 16g costs on. i would do a 3inch exhaust, fmic, a k&n, boost guage, datalogger, mbc, i would also go through and replace all the belts and hoses, and fluids.

first, mod your current turbo. You will need the parts anyways.. so go ahead and do all the stage one mods. The 14b is a good turbo. You wouldnt notice a difference in power anyways without all supporting mods to push a 16G. See what you can get out of the 14b before you consider something else. You might be impressed.

thats what i was thinking. I think it would be kind of fun to see how much power i can get out of the 14b. My buddy got a 94 Celica that he is doing an engine swap in. Its the JDM turbo celica engine. We are going to run them next spring and see who wins. I will probably get him and he even knows it. The funny thing is that he is going to throw about $4,000 into this swap, and i throw in $1500 in my car and should be able to blow him away.

Thanks guys

keep the 14b.. i never understood why anyone 1g owner would swap from a 14b > 16g.. the power/cost difference just isn't working for me.. but to each his own.

IMO get all supporting mods, tune.. then if you need more power upgrade to a bigger turbo that flows 600+ CFM
