Ran into a few problems with this install

First, the o2 sensor is put on by the hand of satan. Striped the hell out of it.
So, I back door it. Unhooked the o2 from the eletrical connection. Bent the metal mounting bracket out until it sliped out of the plastic connector(hopefuly Im explaining this so someone can understand) So finally, after we get the turbo out. Windows will not roll up, lights came on by themselves. Pulled the fuse for the lights and the horn came on and would not go off. Had to disconnect battery.

So....Any Ideas on what the hell caused my car to be possesd? When I hook eerything back up....is my electrical F'ed Up? WIll it work normal. Did pulling the o2 cause this. I did not pull any other wires except for the MAF connector.

Thanks

Chances are when you pulled the o2 you had a bat. hocked up and you, touched the alt with something metal, its a tight fit. You most likely arcked the alt. and blew some fuses, i know becuse i did the same thing, and thoguth i had a bad alt. Chekc all your fuses in cab and underhood.

PS im drunk as hell sorry for typing i cant read to well atm.

I suppose it is possible...I have touched an alt before and it was quite a big spark.
Ive got tomorro to put the new turbo in...well see what happens when I reconnect the battery.

The B+ from the alt goes through the large fuse (80 amp) in the small fuse box next to the main fuse box. They are around $6-$8 and can be found at many of the chain auto part stores so you don't want to keep blowing them. If you had disconnected the battery ground it wouldn't have blown so let that be a $6 lesson when working around the alt. It will take a 10mm socket to remove the bolts and I think the mounting bracket, again with the battery disconnected. Take the old one with so there is no guessing.

Still confused as to why the lights came on by themselves...and why pullin ghte fuse for the lights made the horn stay on.

The lights coming on are a default condition which is shunted when the main fuse burns out. This is to protect you when driving especially on curvy mountain roads where you cannot run the risk of loosing headlights. This has been brought over to cars from the motorcycle industry where it's been used for over 25 years.

Usually it will be some other accessory or instrument lights/gauges that will misbehave, this is a first report that I have heard of the horn coming on. It makes me wonder if some thing (radio equipment?/alarm?) has been cut/spliced into the circuit for this is not uncommon when DIY installed equipment is added incorrectly.

Needless to say replacing the burned fuse will solve the headlight problem and the horn though you might keep your eye open for wiring modifications.

Cheers,
GTM

Found a 100 amp alternator fuse blown. Hopefully replacing this will fix my haunted car.
