Hey guys, and girls, i just started to purchase parts to turbo my 420A I have 14B coming and need to know where i can find oil lines to fit. I've been searching and having no luck, i also would greatly appreciate some help on water lines as well, got a peice that was described in GSgoinfasts write up on how to do a 420A turbo kit. The peice that bolts to the block for the oil sensor where the feed line comes off, it fits a 4 AN line, so if anyone can help me out or tell me if the 14B fits a 4 AN line like i said it would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Josh

The difference between a "kit" and a "custom" turbo system is that with a kit you get all of the parts to just bolt on, whereas the custom system needs every little piece figured out. If you want all of the pieces given to you in kit form then buy a kit. If you are going to build a custom system then roll up the sleeves and get into it. You're in real trouble if you really can't figure out what you would need for the oil lines.

Bickering aside, I usually get all my plumbing from either McMaster Carr or Summit racing depending on certain things. McMaster Car has some decent prices on some of their prebuilt SS line. If there's no way to be sure of an exact length then I'll just make my own line with either Russell or Aeromotive(whichever's cheaper) fittings and line. For example, on my feed line I'm using a prebuilt one from McMaster Carr cause it didn't really matter that I had a little slack in it. I built my drain line from scratch because the fitment was tricky and the line needs to be going downward all the way from the CHRA outlet to the pan inlet. Hope that helps.

And yes the general concensus is to use a -04AN line for the oil feed. If you go with standard instead of JIC, then use 1/4" hose. Its the same size.

i am also using the 14b for my 420a conversion, and i have been trying to figure out where to run the water lines to? i have searched but have found information pertaining only to the 1gnt to turbo conversion. i have used gsgoingfast's writeup as a reference for my build but his turbo did not have water lines.
i would appreciate any info on this matter.
thanks, :thumb:

I was just told that you do not have to have water lines, and that you can block off where they go in the turbo. I don't know if i will do that or if i will find out how to run them and where to run them from

i knew you could block them off, but i figured if it came with water cooling in/outlet then it would be best to use them.

Maybe you'll think twice about not using our easy to access cooling system...

Just some food for thought.

Simply put, a non-"turbo timed" water cooled turbo will last longer, and is more efficient, than a turbo timed non-"water cooled" turbo. Everyone should water cool there turbos, and there is no excuse on the 420a because the lines are pratically already routed for you.
