14b rebuild?

I have a 93 TSi, balance shaft elimination, 3" turbo back, mbc, on the way i have a modified stock ic with piping, gm maf w/ trans, 580 injectors, 190lph walbro, evo III manifold and o2 housing. To the point I want to rebuild my 14b. My goal is quick spool more than raw hp. I have a shop that with port, and polish all exhaust pieces. I am looking for suggestions on what i can do with the 14b to get the best results. housings? wheels? waste gates? bigger flapper? I would like to press 15-17 psi.

without doing anything you can run that range, but porting is always a plus

Just port the housing.

As said, you don't really need to do anything to support what you want to do. For the cost of a rebuild and port you could probly find yourself a used 16g that is already ported.

Very true.

a 16g spoolup is not much more than a 14b.

The only reason i can see rebuilding a 14b is to try to break and set personal/other records.

Some of the fastest 14b guys on here do that.

OK, how much boost can I push safely with this set up?

i would just push that 17psi level.

If you want you can go to around the 24psi mark, but don't expect it to hold. It is not the porting that causes this. You are just maxing out the power potential. I have seen a car make 280whp with about the same setup as you. He was just running a SMIC, don't remember which one.
