14B rebuild question

hey guys, i forgot to mark the turbine wheel and the compressor wheel. i notice there is a flat part on both of the nuts. do these need to be aligned on the same side(like facing each other) or do the need to be opposite each to balance it?

I took my 14b apart one time...there really isnt a wrong way to reassemble..it only goes back together one way...well thats how it was for me...

OK sorry that this is an old thread.. but I have a 14b that when we took it apart we forgot to sribe it. Do why need to have it rebalanced? or would it be ok?

SSSTTTOOOPPPP!!!!!! You should have marked them before taking them out... those flat spots are for balancing... if its off balance, it fill be toast VERY SOON!!! I just rebuilt my 14b... take it to a machine shop and have them balance it... It will be marked when you get it back... I got mine cleaned, glass peened, micro-polished, and balanced for 70 bucks... DO NOT PUT IT BACK TOGETHER WITHOUT BEING IN BALANCE!!! YOUR TURBO WILL NOT LAST!!! I expect a good 60,000 miles out of mine...
