I just finished installing a 14b on my 2g yesterday. Everything went smoothly, with the exception of the lower intercooler pipe. I read the tech article about the swap, and like it says, I flipped the stock LICP around. I got it to stretch, but the pipe is stretched to the point that it's compressed. I can't imagine this can be very good for efficiency. I've tried to do some research about custom setups. I know that you can buy aftermarket LICP's that are designed for 2g's equipped with a 14b, but I'm on a budget and would prefer to put something together myself. Has anyone done a custom job for this? If so, what materials did you use? Any help would be appreciated.

Imagine taking the pipe and squeezing it between your hands. Rather than being round like it should be, its more of an oval-like shape.

I believe the term you are looking for is "creased". Try hacking off a little bit of the LICP where it attaches to the SMIC (assuming of course that you still have the OEM SMIC). Hack until you're satisfied.

Depending on where the crease is, you could also try using hose clamps to force the oval into a more circular shape.

Well, the problem with that is, in order to get the LICP to reach the intercooler I had to stretch the sh*t out of it. There really is no excess to be cut. I'm guessing the creasing is cause by the amount of pulling I had to do to get it to reach. Rather than leave it that way, I'd prefer a setup that would be less restricting and better looking also.

Like he said above, home depot.

Thats the best place (other then the junk yard) to get parts for our cars.

I'd say about 30% of my car has parts from other dsms and mods from home depot. :rocks:

I got lucky when I did my 14b swap, some how I got 1g dejon tool LICPiping to fit up to a stock 2g side mount. It was tight, but it got done, works like a charm and looks perfect.

I'm beginning to think that might be the best idea. If I had the extra cash, I'd pick up something decent, but I guess I'll try and go the cheap route and check out Home Depot or Advance Auto.
