Well I installed my ebay 50 dollar 14b for 25 bucks last night took me 4 hours and its on nice setup. Reused everything from my car other then oil feed line 14b caem with one so I went off the head.

My car absolutely hauls with it the motor is like it wants to pull to redline now and its accellerating so much harder there its unreal I used to be able to watch my timing with the stock turbo in first gear cowly climb to 20* now it pulls 1st so quick its hard to read the numbers on the pda I gotta logg it to see it LOL!

My question though is lag or spool up are they slower because mine is laggy could be the crappy AUTO trans though. If I mash is about 3/4 through an intersection is nails 17psi and holds it till redline with MBC of course.

If you roll into it though it takes a long time to spool and I just wanted to know if that was normal its about 2x slower spool then my stocker.

I also found my stocker cartridge was split and leaking oil! Good thing I dediced to swap!

I also ported the 14b removed the ridge or step opened the flapper hole and cleaned up the WG dump and then removed the step in the o2 housing but didn't go crazy there how much do you cut? I ported the hell outta the 14b housing on the intake side but not the exhaust so much. Anyways my car does rip now and anyone that says the swap isn't worth 25 bucks and 4 hours is nuts!

First turn it down to 15psi and get some fuel mods. Fuel pumps are not fuel mods. 550cc/min and a S-AFC is a start. DSMlink and 950cc/min is overkill ( OMG ).

Is it laggy compared to the T25? Most turbo's will be. If its not spooling at WOT by 3K rpm's, then I would worry. Auto's also affect spool, but how much I don't know ( never owned one ).

Groomz thanks for the info. I am running it at 17PSi and still getting full timing at WOT is that still no good? I figured out the spool prob I forgot to tighten the O2 sensor! Anyways its spooling nice now and my car seems even faster again.

Look at your fuel trims. If the injectors duty cycle is above 90%, pull the boost back. Ideally duty cycle ( time spent open ) should be around 85%. 17psi is too much for a stock fuel system, no matter what.

How do I watch the duty cycle? On my logger? Is that the % after the O2 value? My O2 WOT is reading .96v on the long pulls I turned it back to 15PSI and the car feels slower now.

As for my lag I hit 5 PSI at 2500RPM 10 PSI at 3000 RPM and then it slams to 15-17 PSI where I set it.

It would help if I had the file.

That log looks good. I'll have to do some research on how to look at duty cycle. I thought the pocketlogger could look at that value, but I have never had one for a 2G. The TPS is not at 100%, but I don't know what the actual value is supposed to read. The timing looks a little weird on some places, which could be knock, but its hard to tell. If you can graph it and make sure it doesn't dip anywhere under the curve, you should be good to go. If you haven't already, new plugs and wires would be good.

O2's look good, or right where they should be. I would guess the wastegate actuator or something mechanical is to blame for the hesitation or spikey boost. Check the wastegate actuator arm for any play. Everything looks safe though, now get some fuel mods!

The TCM is programmed to pull some timing during shifts in order to make it a smoother shift. I'd say that is normal. Always glad to hear others are working the 14B, it don't get the respect it deserves.

Thanks for the feedback guys very much appreciated! I am auto and thats what I guess pulls timing as well.

As for the TPS if I really push hard I get 99% so I guess I was not pushing as hard as I thought but it does go there. Maybe the cable could use a touch more tension.

What would you guys recommend for injectors to max out the 14b and the boost level? Im looking for an S- AFC but do I need an S-AFC or an S-AFC II? I also don't really understand to much about that black art so any info you can share is much appreciated.

Well if you never plan on upgrading from the 14b 550's will be fine but you most likely will go up to something bigger in the future right? :thumb:

So to save having to buy injectors twice 660's would be your best bet, and yess you NEED and S-AFC or some other device to control fuel when you install larger injectors.
