I did this on my stock FWD Talon TSi. It was not gutted (spare tire and backseat were out), it was far from sealevel (3000ft) at Firebird Raceway in Idaho, at about 75 degrees Farenheight, on regular Firehawk radials, on 91 octane pump gas.

dam i dont know wether to say bs or insanely badass driving. im hoping it was the latter.

Would pictures of my car, and underneath the hood be sufficient? I could even post the time slip. But really, no matter what I do unless you actually see me I'm not going to convince you. But on my word this is what I ran. Oh, and I have a K&N filter does that make me not "stock" anymore? I think its a Factory freak for sure.

I'll be headed to the track this Saturday, I'm going to run some 94 octane this time (and maybe mix with some Race gas) and take out my Headlight. Hopefully I'll cut a 2.2 60ft (I have before) and get this baby in the 100mph club in the cold night air. If I do, I'll be sure to shit my pants and post it here. Feasible?

I'll have to say that I believe his time.. i just recently went to the track in my fwd 90 laser. STOCK w/o balance shafts or ac, running open o2 housing and pulled the headlight (like it did anything) full interior minus spare - had tools in there and pulled off a 14.52 at 100.48.. even trapped one at 102.40 and ran a 14.55. This is on 92 octane at 3300+ft elevation, stock BALD 205 street radials and a chilly night. Spinning all the way through the top of 2nd before traction.

So yes, it is entirely possible on a stock fwd, given traction!

Yes, of course a filter makes you no longer stock. And no, there's no such thing as a factory freak. There is, however, a such thing as a BS freak! ;)

I'm not really sure what kind of message your trying to give me. Whether your congratulating me or mocking me. Along with that K&N filter I have some Super Great NGK plugs in my car too! Perhaps its considered "lightly modded" now? ;)

I want to believe it, but 75 degrees, Stock FWD, and 91 octane, I have a hard time believing the time, especially cuz the 60' was a 2.3..... My AWD needed a sub 2.0 60' to make that kind of run, and I'm modded. I'm not saying its not possible, just very hard to believe.

a buddy of mine ran 14.6 with just the free boost mod on his 2g on bald tires. pulling 2.4-2.5 60ftls...and he was gutted out. so i'm not sure if i believe 100% if u ran 14.3 bone stock...but i wasn't there to see it so i can't say much.

it MIGHT be possible, althou HIGHLY unlikely. I know MSN autos has a time of 14.3 listed @ 97-98mph [ forget which exactly] .

Mitsu has been known to send out 'ringers' before[ case in point with some early 03 EVOs for mag reviews ]..so maybe his car is like a mitsu 'ringer'?.

I ran a 14.7@95 in my old TSi with a filter and a high 2.3 60ft, this is with my slow ass shifting too. I believe it because with a better launch and harder shifting I could've done it.

yup i gotta say i beileve him i just ran a [email protected] with a 2.1 60ft but that was with the clutch slipping in 2nd and 3rd and this was only a filter and boost up to 13psi with very bald eagle rsa tires if i had a better clutch i think i couldve been down to the low 14's

i believe you guys.bald tires are like drag radials on a warm day.drag radials are bald and thats just more tire to grip.

sorry thats some bad info right there drag radials are made up of a more sticky compound so the hold to the ground better, bald tires are pretty much wires that wont grip at all

I BELIEVE YOU. Everyone was dissing on me because my 2g awd LIGHTLY modded with t-25 ran 13.7 at 95.28 with full weight. It is possible my friend just ran a 14 flat at 101 with a FWD Golf. Good job and good driving put some more octane turn up the boost and let me know how you run.

Congrats :thumb:

well the bald tire thing is from my experience,on the street at least.the bald ones seemed to grip better than the newer ones i have now on a hot day.i know about the rubber compound though, stickier and all.i guess results vary though.

With a little timing cars totally different. My auto was a freak.I was beating cars trapping 100+ and at the track my car couldnt hook second for some reason.Best it went was 15.3@93 with a 2.4 60 and 11lbs on a 14b,2 1/2 dp,and free mods(full weight)
