toronto,
Hey guys, brought my FWD 92 out to the track today, first time racing the FWD. This car is ALL original, still racing on the original 240,000km old clutch and everything! OMG
Anyways, its only real mod is a MAF-T with a small custom upper ic pipe. The rest is all stock aside from an ECU chip... Car had a mix of pump and 110 octane as well...

Managed to run consistant 14.3@100MPH times throughout the day, track was very quiet so I managed about 30-35 runs.... :tease: The old girl held up!
They had one lane for slicks and one for streets, track workers prepped the hell outta the slick lane while the street lane turned to hell and was hard to find traction. I was running 2.3 60' all day with some decent potenza summer tires.
So, that was my day, thought I would share...

Maybe you should give me some lessons.I just went on friday night which was my first race with a fwd and ran a [email protected] you not have any trouble with wheel hop.I thought my car was gonna fall apart in the lane, plus traction was a huge issue for me.Congrats on a good time for a stock car.My track was so busy I only got to run 1 time in 4 hours.

fwdeclipse, go 1/2 throttle in 1st, 3/4 in second, and full when you hit third. you will still bost and make power, but you wont be spinning or hopping all over the place. WHen i used to have a gst it took me a lot of driving discipiline to figure this out and be able to do it in at the 1/4mi track.
The other day i was at the track with my friend and he has a 90gst with just exhaust and intercooler piping and he ran like a 15.8 i told him to drive like this and by the end of the night he dropped it down to a 15.1 or so.

hope this helps bro, you just have to practice that throttle control, it can only come from driving a lot and getting the feel for when you are on the borderline of traction and slipping.

No issues with wheel hop, didn't go WOT in first, launched it out with the stutterbox set to 3200RPM's, shifted hard into 2nd and pegged it, the rest was just a matter of getting clean 2-3, and 3-4 shifts in... I was shifting at about 6000rpms.

Yeah Im gonna go with a technique like that. That should help alot with my times.I hope to get some slicks soon. Its crazy how much harder a high power FWD car is to drive in the 1/4.
