My car is still in the "getting built" stage, but when she comes home and is broken in I should have a set of 550cc injectors and an AFC ready to go in. With all the free mods, EGT guage, boost guage, hard intercooler piping, MBC and K&N, what should I be lookin at for boost, and what kind of hp should I expect? The motor is being built with balance shafts removed, Wiseco pistons, stock 1st gen rods, arp head, main and rod studs, just to give you an idea of what she's got for internals and what she'll be able to handle. I will by next spring be getting a 16G, just wondering what I can do with a 13G before I get that far.

If I was you I would just buy a used 14b for cheap and run it untill you put on the 16g :thumb:

you've got a built motor so why not sell the 550's get some 680's and go with a 50 trim.

I decided to get the motor done up this way instead of going with a stock build because I'd have a little security later on if I decided to go crazy with it down the road. I'm runnin an automatic, so until I switch to a manual, I can't go nuts. like I said before, I'm switchin to a 16G or bigger as soon as funds allow, just wonderin if I could have a little fun with the 13G while I have it. Does anyone know max boost on the 13G?

hey, take it easy on the guy. He is at least going the right way about it. Getting all the supporting mods before a big turbo, not trying to run a 50 trim on 450's and and a smic, that is all to common on here.

If you had a front mount you could prolly do pretty well with the lil guy. But with out it the charge air temps will be soo high that turning up the boost will only make less power. I'd say leave it at 11ish. If you can, pick up a 14b on the trader or sumthing. they can be had for $50 if you look. I would also try and get a front mount asap that will really help, then and when you upgrade to the 16g you will be able to use it's full potential. A good front mount and 14b will easily perform as good as a 16g with the sidemount.

Bwahaha, I'm sorry but if this isn't DSMtooners slogan, I don't know what is.

I'm pretty sure I'm just gonna go with a supra smic until I really need to upgrade that, just because I wanna stay as stealthy as possible to surprise the occasional camaro or mustang, unless I get a fmic for a really good price and deck the grill out with some mesh to hide it. (I intend to put mesh in the grill anyway, it's my trademark, I do custom work for all my friends) thanks for all the input guys

The last time I went to the shop to work out some stuff for the car it turns out that when the timing skipped, the guy was doin over 100 and didn't pop it into neutral, so it kept on spinning the motor for awhile and wrecked every last valve and sent chunks through my turbo completely ruining the wheel and exhaust housing, so I'm upgrading the turbo right away but because I'm broke and my deal with the AFC and injectors fell through, I'm going to have to leave the boost stock for quite awhile, the 390cc's just aren't going to be able to handle much. So over the winter I'm hoping to get my guages, boost and EGT, MBC, 550 or 660 injectors and a used AFC. I'll have full exhaust and custom bent hard upper intercooler pipes done when it comes home though, so I'll be ahead of the game there. The process has been long, but I'm sure it'll be well worth the wait!

Some advice on installing a Supra SMIC on a 1G DSM. I tried to do the install on my 1G auto DSM and pretty much had the UICP and SMIC mounted the way I wanted (had to do a lot of cutting). When it came time to doing the LICP, I didn't realize how lttle room there was between the front of the tranny and the lower frame of the car. I couldn't figure out how to route the piping. So I ended up scrapping the project, selling the SMIC, and buying a FMIC.

Now I am not saying this can not be done, I'm sure with a little patients, the right pipes/reducers, this should not be a problem. But make sure you know what your getting into first when doing the install of a Supra SMIC on an auto DSM. There is a lot more room in a 1G manual DSM than a 1G auto DSM.

I believe you should be fine. I haven't seen my 13g for quite some time but the inlet and outlet for the compressor side should be the same size as the 14b and 16g. You just need a J-pipe to make it work. Might want to call them up just to make sure.

If this info is wrong, someone feel free to correct me, cause I am trying to remember 4 years back when I had the 13g.

It's the slogan only because it's a very well proven combination. Usually tuning problems, and not so much driver error, that causes the poor performance #'s. Hell, I'd keep this combo for a daily driver car over just about any other turbo/inj. combination.
