Hey guys, wired up my Glowshift gauges the other day (gott'em into the A/C control area :hellyeah:) and they're just too bright. Decided to go ahead and hook up the dimmer functionality.

Just need to know a good place to tap in for a switched 12v source that'll toggle when I turn on/off my headlights.

I've searched for 15minutes or so and couldn't find an answer outside of "tap into the headlamp 12v switch" -- not descriptive enough for me.

Thanks in advance, sorry I'm sort of a newb :D

You can wire them into the rheostat for interior lamp dimming.
The green white wire is feed power from the tail lamp relay (underhood box) then goes to junction block.(interior fuse block)
Once to the juction block it splits of to many other outputs one of which being the rheostat.
Same wire color, green white.
Look at this diagram for the inputs there is other places you could tap into;

Nice thanks for the diagram, I too am looking for a good location for the interior dimming and didn't want to run the wires all the way to the center console since I'm using a cluster pod.

That diagram is for a 91 TSi.
For a 96 it's almost exactly the same but just incase;

You're a saint, thank you very much. The diagram is a little blurry & hard to read but it definitely got me started in the right direction. Thanks a ton man.:thumb:
