113% IDC on 650's??

So, I'm an idiot. As it turns out I just had some of my settings wrong, I took it to extreme motorsports to get it tuned and the guy took MASSIVE fuel out from where I had it set and got my a/f to 11.5:1. So I guess I had too much fuel in it...However, dyno results really sucked. When I welded my wastegate flapper door closed so I could use my external I didn't do a very good job, therefore it was rattling and causing false knock :notgood: So I only made 290 awhp at 19psi on a 20g with 5 yes you heard it right, 5 degrees of timing advance at 6500 rpm. Guess I better get that fixed huh? Thanks for your responses and help though guys. FYI, my IDC is down to the mid-high 80's now.

you son of a bi***, you just got me excited LOL . im running the same setup besides dsm link! i figured out that im just dumping too much fuel also. i got it down to 93% at 7.5k. if i can put down 290hp with the 20g and daily drive my car to a low 12 i would be really pumped. anways congrats on the good numbers and good luck fixing that wastegate problem.

290 was nice... but i made 270 with a 16g, no cams, and an afc-2. so imagine my surprise when i spent $2000 and only picked up 20 horsepower. Dang knock sensors... I think if I get rid of the false knock and get my full advance it should make mid-low 300's.

I'm really surprised to read that. :boring:

This had been mentioned at least twice in this thread.

But what about the trims on dsmlink having to be set so low... I've never heard of anyone having to set 650's at -17... any thoughts?

Your IDC do seem too high, but your correction factor seems to low.

450/650cc - 1 = -.3076 = -31%, where are you getting your -17 correction factor from?

I had actually gotten my globals down to about -28 and 0'ed out my ltft. The settings I was referring to where the WOT fuel sliders in dsmlink. I had them set wayyy to high so I was running pig rich. I took the advice you gave and fixed my global though, that wasn't my problem, it was the WOT trims.

If you global was set correctly in the first place you should be removing fuel with the fuel sliders :thumb: . This is because if your global is correct and your trims are where they should be, with all the sliders at O, that would be like a stock tune. We all know the stock tune is very rich ~ 9.5 to 1 under wot. Depending on boost, fuel, etc, you usually want to run around 11 to one. This is why we remove additional fuel with the sliders. If your new to using dsmlink they have a good starter tunning guide that you can download from their website (info that isn't covered in the manual).

Good to hear you got it straightened out, and hopefully you can make some nice numbers once you get all the bugs worked out :thumb: . That 5 deg of advance defently isn't helping in the making power department ;)

Yea i read the manual and tips. I just didn't really get a grasp on it until I saw the correct tuning in progress at the dyno. I'll keep you guys updated on the 1/4 mile et/trap after the 4th. I probably wont be back at the dyno for a while. Thanks again for your prompt and helpful responses.:thumb:
