10 second turbo?

If I were building an engine to run 10 second passes all day long, what turbo would I go with?
 
depending on supporting mods.......garret 60-1....but it will only get u there with everything to help it.
 
if you are running 10 seconds the rest of the car would be more important than the turbo.
 
lots of different turbos could get you there... COULD... its all about supporting mods. i would say that and proper tuning are much more integral factors....
 
If i were looking for a 10 second car. it would use a FP3565 built motor and i would then spray the living piss out of it.

That's a hell of a wish list.

To run 10's reliably, you need to be able to support a little over 500 whp. That means a turbo that can flow around 60 lb/min, which gives you a couple options. GT35R, GT-14, FP RED.....
 
well this is my "wish" list, that engine can support 650+ hp with reliability... so whats the suggestion on the turbo?
 
just get a full t4 with 62-1 or a full on gt40, unless u plan on driving on the street, below 4k rpms, with boost. are you planning on a track only car or a street driven sort of thing?
 
well it wont be daily driven, but ill take it out every once and a while, maybe saturday nights and stuff.
 
I would go with 272's for both your intake and exhaust cams. And go with a front mount with short route piping.

Yes, on a "Bench-racer" dyno, your setup would run 10's on pump gas, at rediculous AWHP levels, trashing your stock tranny in the blinkity-blink of your eye.

if done right the turbo can get you in the 9s w/o spray.... thats my goals with it :)

KPT4321, I didn't mean to say "whats" i meant to say "thats". Sorry for the confusion.

Secondly shepracing is building the tranny full race spec.

Thirdly, you shouldn't try to put something down in which you know absolutley nothing about.

Finally, if you have any suggestions or questions on the engine, turbo, other parts for the engine, either PM me or post. All the help is gladly appreciated.
 
No turbo in the world will net you tens without the rest of the car to go with it.

Shepherd bought a buscher car that was running 10's on a 20G OMG , how many people can say that? Its POSSIBLE, but unlikely. It CAN, but it probably wont. See what Im saying? Its all in the setup. Nobody is mentioning weight reduction. A lot of weight loss is needed to hit those 10s. And yeah, tuning is huge also...

Better have a big wallet...

hey i am goning to run 10's on my stock motor and 14b.
i'm at 14's right now ........maybe yes maybe if i Shift faster ......yes that will do just shift faster....
