1 gen with evo engine

Hi im new to the turbo world but not the non turbo ive been wanting an awd for a while now and my friend has one but hasnt driven it and now wants to sell it he a honda kid a heart but it supposedly has an evo 3 motor in it and ive been hearing that they wont fit into the 1gen and well his car is a 1st gen talon just wondering if its possible and how could i tell if its an actual evo motor and not just have a evo 16g on it. I was also wondering what i could expect to offer him for it. it needs a new tranny and i herd alot of stuff wasnt hooked up right when he bought it i can fix all this as i have on my non turbo just looking for a price and a way to tell if its really an evo 3 engine all you help will be appreciated.

So basicly there is no way it an evo engine. Im pretty sure its a new engine tho maybe i jdm i will see when i look at it the problem tho will be that he thinks its an evo motor when its really not he seemed like he would sell it to me cheap you guys have any idea how much i should offer him.
