1.8 to a 2.0

Ok. So I've got a 94 Eagle Talon DL 1.8 5speed. ITS SLOW!!!! I'm wanting to put a 2.0 in the car. How much trouble will it be to do the swap? And how much will it cost in PARTS? I don't need to know a motor cost because my local Pull-A-Part has a bunch of 2.0's and i can get one for around 150. Thanks guys.

i hate to rain on your parade a little bit but you might want to invest in a 2.0 turbo car in general. to swap to a 4g63 you need pretty much a whole donor car i.e. wiring harness, engine mounts, clutch assembly, fuel pump, ECU and if you wanna go turbo eventually you'll need turbo tranny to run a turbo flywheel and clutch. all the time and money it takes and how long your car will be down it might not be the best of decisions.

ok thanks. so if im going to just go ahead and get a new car, what year/make/model would be the best choice? i want a dsm that has decent gas milage and lots of upgrades and cosmetics i can change. i def. want a 1st gen. car ### i want to be able to squeeze as much hp out of one i can get. and sorry if i sound like a noob at this...im only 19 and this is the first fuel injected vehicle that ive owned..and its the first one thats past the year 1972.

The 93-94 cars are the best first gens in my opinions that you can get for what you , i thibk . They have 4 bolt rears and dual pistion calipers. not to mention if you are into non pop up head lights they have those and they tend to make more body mods for those cars. But i personally like pop ups, just don't get a 1990. all of the electronics are diffrent from all the other cars and it is a giant pain! i have had a lot of trouble finding parts for my car some times. getting power oyut of 1gs is not really a problem. the options are limitless! if you want to know any thing else let me know. I have had 7 1g DSMs and love my car to death even though it is a 1990. Its the best worst car i have ever had!
