Engine swapping 1.8 to a 2.0

Im having my 2.0 Non T engine and trani rebuilt from a 92 eclipse and i got a 94 that has a 1.8 engine and trani stock im wanting to swap the 1.8 for the 2.0. 1.8 is a old classic engine but gutless.


whats the differnce between the engines (besides power)?


Do they use the same harnesses?


What would i need for the full swap?


How hard is it?

You might be venturing into some uncharted waters there my friend. I've never heard of any one doing that, ever! Hopefully theres some super DSM nerd out there that knows the info you seek for absolutly no reason, other than that you might have to figure it out on your own. I would say though that if the harness was the same (which I doubt) then the OEM ECU for the 2.0 should plug right in.

It's not that it hasn't been done. Because it isn't too difficult. But there isn't a whole lot of gain for the effort. The 1.8L and 2.0L aren't that different.
