I recently purchased a 93 talon. As I'm going through it I have come to realize it was originally a 1.8 car. But has a 2.0 6 bolt 4g63. I checked the ECU and it has an "M" on it assuming it's for a 1.8? Does this need to be replaced? The car runs and drives but some of stuff is clearly off. Not sure the harness was replaced. Looking for some suggestions as where to go from here.

:M" doesn't mean 1.8L. It means masked CPU ie; not EPROM.
There aree several ECU part numbers in a 93 dpeneding on what engine, which emissions standard and which transmission. Look it up http://simon.chi.il.us/ECU/ECUID.html

If it's not the right one for your engine/transmission you'll need to swap it and perhaps change the wiring as needed.
