I have a 94 eclipse 1.8 with a lot of miles on it. I have and opportunity to get my hands on a 4g63 2.0 for cheap with low miles on it. I know already that the 4g63 will bolt up to the engine mounts. And, i've heard that the same 5 speed transmission will fit both the 1.8 and the 2.0 N/T (It looks interchangable, is this true?). I know that i would have to get the ECU for the 4g63 but would the wiring harnesses be the interchangable from the 1.8...or would i have to find a harness from a junk yard also? Is there anything else that would be need to accomodate the 2.0? If so, what?

man , noone can ever give us 1.8 guys a straight answer on the wiring.....

sucks..

Yes, it will bolt up. I did the swap myself over a year ago. This is the things I needed when I did the swap.

-Alternator, cuz the one from the 1.8 didnt fit.
-Engine wiring harness and ECU from a 2.0 N/T engine.
-The MAF and the intake pipe from the 2.0 N/T

Got any questions feel free to contact me at [email protected]

If u dont mind.....do u think u could give me some details on the whole swap. Like what i would need to be careful about or look after.....any advice would help me a lot.
