This was originally posted in the newbie forum but nodbody seemed to answer and it got locked up hopefully I can get some sort of response.
Okay well I got f'd in the ass by tire kingdom, cause my dad got them to change my oil when I got new tires. Aparently they put in a temporary plug so now I have to get a new oil pan. On the plus side because we have to remove the exhaust to get to the pan I am going to go ahead and replace the exhaust.
I am looking at a VRS 2.5" exhaust (unless someone can talk me out of it). My big question is wether or not I should go with the 02 eliminator. The 2.5" aluminized is only $600 and the 02 eliminator is $700 so is the extra $100 worth it? Keep in mind this is probably the only mod I will be doing this summer as I am saving money for grad school. One other stupid question, the exhaust comes with holes for the 02 sensors right?

Thanks any opinions are appreciated.

is it a housing, or the entire pipe? first off, on either of them, you cannot use the heat shield. this will make the alternator die faster. you should think twice about replacing the housing and the pipe as one piece, because if you EVER have to drop the transfer case, and you WILL have to drop that sometime, you will have to remove the pipe. on my car, to remove the eliminator pipe, i have to remove the radiator. finally, you might get lucky like me and the pipe wont fit properly. i had to hog out 2 holes in the flange where it bolts to the turbo. then, the pipe hit the lower part of the core support, i had to notch it. it also hit the transfer case, it was too long, and it was clocked wrong to bolt up to the cat. then, it made this really loud, annoying buzzing resonance, i think it was fubar'd where the flex joint was. i finally went back to a factory cast o2 housing.

6-700 for a DP? Wow, I think mine was 300, maybe 350. I got it from Extreme Turbo a long while back, but I'm pretty sure they got it from somewhere else. Also, I don't know what Ken Inn is talking about transfer cases for, this is a GS-T right?

On mine, I haven't had any problems with heatshields or alternator problems. It can be installed without messing with the tranny or radiator. The fitment wasn't perfect as it touched the oil pan, but they were able to fix that pretty easily.

From the pictures it is an extra housing. This is for a GST so there is no issue with a transfer case. It is 600-700 for a full turbo back not just the downpipe.

Right, it eliminates the housing, I say go for it. Aluminized will look pretty for a long time. Mine is not and is a little rusty and although it doesn't really bug me, I might one day replace it with a shinier one. I'd say get the aluminized one.

What kind of improvement would I see though by going for the 02 eliminator or just a regular turboback? Just trying to weigh the cost/benefits.

You want as few restrictions as possible and having 2.5 (or 3") from the turbo back will help spool and over all output. A 2.5" cat or test pipe is a great idea too. Replacing the o2 will fight boost creep and is just another link in the chain.
