Today I drove up to my friends house, and my check engine light came on for coolant temp. I instantly shut it off, because I had just pulled into his driveway. I've been having it come on intermittently this past week (due to cheap fans I believe) so I wasn't really worried about it. I went to start my car later and nothing -- it just cranked. I pulled all the plugs and did a compression test.

I got 0 compression in every cylinder. I believe I did the test right, all though it was cold. I did it WOT and for 7 counts. I also did the test on another car and it had compression, so I believe my tester works.

Is it possible for a car, that was running perfect until I shut it off, to have 0 compression and not start?

I pulled the cover off and tried bumping the key to get it close to TDC and it looked about right. Tomorrow I'll turn it by hand to line it up exactly TDC and see how it looks.
