After 22 years of ownership I decided a build thread for my car was in order. 1996 A Pile AWD.

In August of 2025 I took my dsm to the race track for the first time, a dream I had kept for a long time. Since then I have been blessed with having the time the car deserves to keep me not missing a local time attack series.
I will sprinkle some background of the car into the comments but this will start roughly 20 years after I purchased and started modifying the car.

In July of 2025 I moved from Seattle WA to Grand junction Co, about a 1100 mile move. I was fortunate to ship these shit boxes, when I was much younger I would road trip the Samurai 600-ish miles every other month.
Moved into a new house with a decent size shop! 850 sq ft!
I got the Talon on the trace track in August (25) it was 98-100 degrees and the car could only do 2.5 laps before Id come close to popping the head gasket. The car is flex fuel so it more than likely was on e-85. It had a MHI 16g with a 38mm tial recirc setup around 24 psi. I believe my PB was a high 67.xxx, for reference the track is .9 miles long. This is a go-kart track and is a time trail event (transponders are given out) 1 warm up lap, 4 hot laps and 1 cool down lap with 5 cars on track and no passing or point bye bye's.
I have a video on an on ramp when that setup was put together, if there is any interest ill find it and post it.
The next race (last of the season) was in October. Had a month to focus on some heat management for more lap time.

I decided I needed a hole in the hood above the turbo and started looking for the rare carbonetic backwards mounted hood vent. I found one for sale but unfortunately the seller would not separate it from the hood with me offering asking price for the hood. I got some 16g steel and let my imagination go. The power steering fluid had boiled over back in August as well. I built a fiberglass insulated heat box for the turbo hot side, ultimately I only used this once at the next race. Here is that.
