So I bought this 2g GS as a project and finally got it running but got a smell of gas so I went out to look where it's coming from just to see a waterfall of gasoline coming out from this fitting here. I tried tightening it but it refused to budge, I just want to know if I should keep trying to tighten it or if I'll make things worse if I mess that up somehow? Should just replace the line at this point?

If any of you know of any better lines that are less susceptible to leaks like this please let me know where I can buy them but for now I would just like to get the car running properly so i can smog it and have it officially in my name.

Any help appreciated

You'll have to disconnect the fuel line and see whether it's the rubber portion or the hard line coming up the firewall. Be careful, it may still be under pressure.

Would i be able to just pull it straight out or twist it off/unscrew?

I was able to take it apart and nothing looks damaged or worn so i replaced the small rubber piece inside and it doesnt leak as much anymore but it definitely still leaks

from what i saw its leaking from the male side of it I dont know if I can continue tightening i feel like its as tight as it can get before I damage it. Maybe I can use some sort or filling like the tape they use for pvc?? Is there anything like that resistant to gasoline?

The hard line is a taper flair fitting, looks ok.

The hose end looks suspect. I’m not a 420a guy, but I was expecting a bubble or taper flair on the inside to mate metal to metal on the hardline sealing with compression. -Teflon or any such thing should not be used in the threads, as the threads don't provide the seal.

Maybe these had a low pressure connection with a rubber seal? Can you get a new hose?

I figured as such, yeah ill replace the hose end and eventually fully rebuild and upgrade all hoses/lines at some point but for now I just want the car not to leak especially when gas is as expensive as it is 😅
