This fixed my popup issue. Thanks for the good photos and links to parts guys. Mine would go up fine but would go down and then pop back up 1/4 of the way.

C3 capacitor was leaking. Could only tell after I desoldered it and looked at the bottom. Replaced both pairs.

I learned today that the long leg of the capacitor is the + side which corresponds to the + symbol on the board. I used solder-wick to free up the legs. Cleaned everything with rubbing alcohol and put some deoxit on the R6 pins.

Never replaced board components before but have watched Tronicsfix do repairs on game systems. Now I can show off my Popups again.

I am glad to hear your pop up’s are fixed. Mine are still going strong after my repair almost 5 years ago now.

After going thru all the checks and troubleshooting to find out why my headlights would go up and not down, I finally decided I would just replace the capacitors on the relay board, even though my capacitors showed no signs of leakage nor did the board have any corrosion on it.

Looks like they just ran out of Electrolyte fluid or something. Anyhow this fixed my issue so now I don't have to open the hood and manually close the lights anymore . Since the information in the post is a bit old I included the parts I used to do the repair as trying to find things like this can be tricky.

I know you would never know this but I wish you would have hit me up for the capacitors. My bag came with 10 each. Anybody else needs capacitors just message me and I’ll drop them in an envelope and mail them to you. My post was a few years ago and they still pop up fine. Glad you got your fixed.

AHH man you should have said something sooner and how did you not know I had headlight issues, .
No problem they are not the expensive and I could have gotten just what I needed instead of 10 but its one of those things that are cheap so your mind is telling you might as well get a few extra in case , or is that just me. Also If anyone needs some to fix their headlights message me as well and I will send you a replacement set. As I am pretty confident these will last for another 36 years.
