So I need someone with more electrical knowledge then me because I am stumped. My pass side power window stopped working. Ok no problem, I have a replacement motor assembly.

Well I tested everything out. I got power to the switch, power through the switch and power to the motor. Ok cool so its just the motor. Nope. I plugged it in before removing the old one and it doesn't work. So just to check it I tore of driver side door card and plugged the motor into that side. What do you know it works.

So how does it work on the driver side but not pass side?

Like I said i have power to the switch, through the switch and to the motor. I'm lost. Please help me. Thanks guys

im looking over the wire diagram for your power windows and from your description of things it seems most likely you have a backed out pin that isn't making complete contact to your passenger window motor, try plugging the original passenger window motor into the driver side OR just powering it directly via a 12v power source like your battery, if it works suspect backed out pins.

the 12v power source for your windows comes from your power window relay and feeds driver and passenger window switches, but only the driver side has a ground.

heres the diagram i was referencing

I was trying to avoid pulling out the motor if i cant figure out the problem but i will try running a wire from 12v power to the motor and see. I did try that with the replacement one i have and it didnt work but it worked when i plugged it into the driver side harness so i didnt understand that either. It just has me confused but thanks for the diagram. I appreciate it

if you are measuring 12v across the 2 pins that connect to the window motor while operating the switch in the up or down position with a multimeter but the window is non functional when plugged in (this would be indicative of connector/pin issue);

try pushing the pins into each other via the wires coming out of the connectors while theyre connected, you may get a response from the motor via using the window switch by pushing/wiggling them.

one thing to keep in mind is it's just a 2 pin connector so in theory you could replace with another 2 pin connector or wire them directly should you find the connector is the problem.

one more thing, you can test the connector with your multimeter by getting a reading before and after the connector while checking for continuity(continuity setting on multimeter) (you can just make a small needle like hole in the wires), if you dont have continuity.. your problem is connector pins

I just used a test light to check for power. I had the switch plugged in and probed the back of the plug. One wire would light up one way the other wire the other way. Did the same at the plug at motor. That tells me switch works and power is going to the motor. Just dont understand why its not working plugged in on pass side but works plugged in on driver side

To clarify further, I assume the passenger side doesn’t work from either the main switch (driver control) or the sub switch (passenger control)?

I get that the motor works when plugged into the driver side. Just wanting to understand that you tried both switches for passenger control.

i thought about asking that too but then i thought "theres no way he didnt check that" haha

but i was also assuming you were testing/finding power on the passenger side switch via operating the passenger side switch
