As title says. My compression is 0,0,0,0 (maybe 1, or 2psi) but pretty much nothing.
I started my car, ran for about 2 seconds then died. Tried again, nothing. wouldn't turn over. Valve timing is dead on, and crank timing is also dead on. Did compression test and those were my results. Only thing I can think of is blown head gasket (unlikely) or bad rings. But to have all the rings go out all at once is unlikely as well.
I did a search on this, and everyones problems seem to be timing. If this was answered before please point me in the right direction... otherwise, whats your take on it?
Thanks

With your engine at TDC on cyl 1 and timing marks lined up, are the dowel pins on the cam gears pointing up?

Danny

no rebuild... I had the timming belt done about 5-6K ago. thats all.
Im really confused. Its at my mechanics now, he is just as confused as I am.
The only things I can think of are soo unlikely that its almost impossible. such as the timming on the crank jumping 360 degrees(very unlikely since the belt is still tight) or the dowel pin on the crank breaking causing to the crank to spin but not the crank pulley leaving the timing marks to match up (but I highly dought the timming belt would ever move after that..) Im stummped

I plan on it being down for a while, so I'll prolly do a cylinder leakdown test to see were my compression is going. Then I'll pull the head and check the valves. (Good time to start looking for a six bolt and use the seven bolt as a back up after it gets fixed)

Well, good news. We left the plugs out over night, put everything back together, and the car started! Wondering if this problem could have been from me keeping the car on stands for about a week while putting my exhaust on? I was thinking that maybe the oil drained from the cylinders? the car was jacked up in the back pretty high for a while with the front wheels to the ground until I got to more jack stands for the front.

WTF Maybe the compression test was done wrong. I can't imagine the car running for even two seconds as stated in the first post if compression is really 0 all across the board. Definitely weird.

compression test was done three times with a different tester everytime. Compression is good now, but I don't know the numbers. Defiant, what do you mean "lifters being too full." Anyhow, It runs great so far. (and the new RNR ehaust sounds great!)

I look at it this way, Its a DSM, physics doesn't apply to them :tease:

I also forgot to mension that about two weeks ago I took a pretty long trip, and managed to pull off 37 MPG (that made my day, and yes I was boosting once and a while) and I never have to add oil. So with that in mind, the car must be running pretty damned good, and since I never have to add oil, the valves seats are good, and the rings are probably good as well...

176miles to a quarter tank on a turbo car... pshhh, who needs a highbryd?

"Pumped up". But I've not heard of that happening on a DSM.

Yeah, it's about to blow up.
