Candidates.. FP Red, FP 3052, FP 3065... I'm stepping up from my PTE SCM3231E... I'm looking for big power, nice respectable spool time, not a very hard jerky turbo when it spools, looking for around 450whp and want it obtained easily..

Please use the search button this topic has been :beatentodeath:

Don't be so lazy... actually do some of your own research on the turbos. Call the factories talk to some reps, call some shops ask them what they would use. You will find out that you will get many different opinions some people might say a 20g others might say something like a 35r or whatever. Thats what I did and I had like 5 different turbos I was looking at it took some time. But in the end I couldnt be happier with my decision rather then jumping the band wagon and doing what everyone else says. Draw your own conclusions and pick a turbo that fits your own needs I mean its your car right?

Jerky turbo when it spools? WTF Not exactly sure what you mean here but bottom line is if you want big power that turbo is gunna set you back in your seat like you wouldnt believe its something youre going to have to get used to. And dont be scared of turbo lag in all honesty get over it. Its not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. My car redlines at 8900 I see full boost by about 4650 almost 4700 and let me tell you once it does spool you completely forget about the first 4600 rpms or so. :thumb:

I did search and there were no comparable reviews that I could really use with these turbos.. "Jerky spool" When my 20g hit full boost, it hit very hard and harsh causing me to instantly break the tires loose. With the 3231E it has a much smoother map to it and isn't as rough when it spools.

I am going with the fp3052 and here is my reason. Customer service is great, turbo is very easy to install, boost comes on in the 3100-3800 rpm range so decent spool up & the power output is great for what I want on a daily driven street car. This turbo and the 3065 have had nothing but good things said about them but like the above poster put do some searching on the forums.

I think i'm going to have to go with the Red on this one.. I just don't have the $$$ to shell out 1400 on a turbo and then have to get a new dp and WG as well..

You just need a new wastegate and o2 housing. No need for a new downpipe. I can kind of see what you're saying though.

Yup was looking at FP and the 44mm Vband was 345 and their o2 housing is like 550 i think... why spend that kind of money when I have a tial 40 with a VPE o2 housing that the RED would bolt straight up to and flow even more than both

Their O2 Housing is maybe 250-300 for the 2.5 inch, which is more than you'll need. I'm just a big fan of the 30 series turbos from fp. I have a couple friends that have done amazing on them. And plus, it's always good to have something a little larger for upgrading the power later.

Oh well the o2 I saw from FP was saying it was like 500 bucks.... I dunno maybe I'm crazy?

Reguardless all FP turbos are insane, I cant wait to get mine.
