Just want to give you props Roy! THat thing is amazing. I was so shocked to see you outperform most cars in the USCC. Good luck with it :thumb:

Wrong. A smog certificate is good for 2 months, regardless of who the car is registered to.

Sport compact shows you ran a 12.4, why? was the turbo almost gone? was it too hot? was it a weak turbo? for 700hp, that car should run way faster.

That's what I was thinking...

My car had a blown head gasket before the event. We tried to keep it in one piece for each event in the USCC. Slowly after each event the car was getting worse. During the road race event it overheated and caused the head to warp. Now oil and water was leaking from the car BAD

During the 1/4 event... The car was running 15 psi and with pretty much no oil as it would leak about a qt. every 3 secs.

I give you mad props on your car, man. :thumb: Yea, any new projects? What time do you think you would've achieved in the 1/4 had the car been running at 100%?

Cant wait to see what it sells for. Heck thats already the price of a brand new loaded EVO8 there plus leftovers for mods.

Hey Roy, wont you be pissed if you get a non-paying bidder? That would suck so much azz.

Thats where you are confused, not just anyone can build a car. For those who can't and have the money, Roy's car is perfect for them.

Please don't knock the guy, he has done so much more than 99% of the people on this board. Take a look at your own garage before pointing fingers at others, I am sure he has more than $32,000 in R&D including parts and labor.

I know, I have spent too muxh money on DSM's and never made anything close to 700 HP!!!

No, I am not doubting his ability. He sure knows what he is doing.

That's just a lot of money for any DSM.

Don't tell me that it's a good buy for someone who can't build this car themselves, because that is bullshit. If you buy that car, you will need to know everything that would be necessary to build it and tune it, unless you plan on making wekly trips to RRE to diagnose problems. 700 horsepower means lots of maintainance, unquestionably.

i have to agree. a 700hp DSM is not for someone who doesn't know what they are doing. Although impressive, it is also an antiquated setup IMO.

also, with 700hp, i dont think he even has a 10sec timeslip, and if you actually read all the stories in the magazine, the other DSM with an fpgreen was dominating the road coarse until the turbo blu and had to race the rest of the way N/A. Roys car is nice but in my opinion not worth 30 grand or whatever. Just an opinion so all you crazy SCC readers, please no flames.

Thats my point, someone who can afford to spend this on the car, will be able to afford to repair it at a shop like Road Race. They do not need to know how to repair it, to own it? I have people like this come in to our shop daily and spend money on things that most of us wouldn't. Not everyone is a do it yourselfer. You are not in the real world if you think there are not people out there who do this.
Case in point, a close friend of mine just paid Paisley $22,000 dollars to build him a stout Supra motor. Inlcudes motor, turbos, AEM EMS and all supporting hardware......no installation, tuning or other extras. He will never wrench on a car, and I could have gotten him the same work done, tuned for half of that! This is the third motor he has purchased, from different vendors, think he cares if he can do it himself or not? He bought a expensive Supra and does not how to repair himself.

I am also sure who ever buys it doesn't plan on making it a daily driver.

Sooo.... like I said, its a good buy for some people, not you or I of course. :)

IMO half the fun is building, tuning, and (sometimes) fixing the car! Sure its fun to have a super fast car, but just go buy a porsche or something if all you want is fast and you have the money. Even if I was a millionaire, I wouldn't want somebody else to do the work for me, I find that stuff to be fun (except when it doesnt work out like it should, but in the end its always a good learning experience). But thats just me anyway. Good luck selling the car Roy!
