hi, so once I lowered my car using photoshop- then later realized people have been doing this type of thing. there's some cool stuff out there, but to see a creation from any angle... i now use 3d software. i've only used 1 program (used others years ago) and it's pretty good for the price. you can see more pics of what i've done in my profile web link.
so if people want to try it out i can offer some tips, if there's pros out there maybe you can give me tips. :)
this is a widebody with a new rear end too (yes the structural rear bumper is exposed, but also redone). next i'll ad functional cooling vents (hot engine air, not for brakes) and change the front - to be sleeker and more minimal than stock.
- for hammering sheet metal to make my creation, i have a 3 foot half-sphere chunk of wood that i sanded/grinded into multiple round shapes. it's working, and with thick layers of cloth taped to the hammer- the pitting is mild.

go buy a 350Z or G35, it will look the same as your second picture, and a lot less work

just my opinion though

the front fenders are way too wide... make 'em less agressive and it'll look much better... And find a way to mix the 97-99 rear bumper instead of keeping only the structural bumper...

But you'Re on the right way!

i don't like the way the 350z looks, my friend has one. the front flares don't come off the hood smoothly, but start a couple inches down. the whole 350z has a higher 'waist-line' than the older z's. and the z isn't wide enough for me, i'm going for an extreme widebody porsche look (not the current ones which have flat sides).
- yes the headlights on the front view are from an older file version (they're off a bit). and I only quickly mocked up the front bumper to look stock, since I'm going to change the front completely.
- from 3/4ths view the front flares aren't as obnoxious looking :) the front and rear flares extend the same amount (bout 5 inches- way wider than the 350z)
- i do like the 350z form some angles, same with the rx8, but too bad the 4g isn't as curvy as the eclipse concept-e. i'll take some pics of the metal work if any1's interested.
- yeah still working on the car's rear end design, it's inspired by this hot car with a small butt. spent most of my effort so far in sculpting the flares. the matching arches are distantly inspired by the audi tt.

Definatly post up some pics of your metal work. I'd love to follow the progress of this project.

thanks, and yes a general resemblance to the new z is unavoidable (esp with no spoiler like the z). was away for a week, i'll get pics of the metal work soon - and different bumpers rendered in 3d.

i'm starting the widebody project again next month (i'm moving from west coast to east coast, and i'm buying a gsx to replace my gst before i go -have to put an engine in it). here's more 3d pics with more work on the front and rear bumper

since i'll have more money (moving for a new job), this widebody with 13inch wide tires and 300-400hp should be done in about 6 months. i'll likely buy an english wheel soon to help. here's 1 more pic there's alot more at that link.

if you can make it smoother it'll look good...if you cant quite get it right with metal, use them as a base to lay fiberglass over and make the parts of the kit from there :) it looks alot like a widebody from NFSU2.... I really wish someone would make my fave widebody from that game...I would, but it's waaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy too much work for me...
