prove it.....I'm assuming this is a whole motor from carb to oil pan? and how do you know it makes 600 hp? Was it run on an engine dyno?

I know you can make a cleveland make 600 hp but i don't see it for that price....i would like you to prove me wrong

i know the guy talking about that mustang making 436 hp with those mods is full of BS
 
no just the base engine..
and i agree with you about makin 436hp with those mods.. impossible
on an engine dyno it was dynoed at 689hp at rear wheels.. he has spent tons of time and money on this car

75 shot of nitrous, shorty headers, edelbrock intake, 5 inch cowl hood, msd ignition, magnecore wires, ne thing round has been ported, flomaster exhuast with h pipes,4 head carb,65mm throttle body, borla manifold, pulleys,cobra cams raised, front and rear strut bars, lowering springs, 3.73 gearing,Koni Adjustable Drag Strut / 50/50 compression is 9:1 and the pistons are diamond forged and last but not least a vortech v-2 supercharger running 13psi at 6200rpm= 8 seconds of pure insanity
this is all based on what i've overheard from him talkin about it.. his mustang is his baby.. i'm more into sport compact than american muscle cuz i can't afford the gas.. don't get me wrong if i had the money i would be driving a 93 mustang lx convertible.. those are my fav

is ur stang modded?? cuz damn, my buddy has a sticker on his 93 talon tsi that says 5.0L EATER pretty much bone stock except the bov, turbo timer and exhaust and he rocks mustangs i swear to god

Did you say he has a 351 cleveland? now if he did it would be carbureted....you say 4 head carb and 65mm throttle body? wTF? LOL...WTF is a borla manifold? Cobra cams? i didn't know 351 clevelands have more than one cam? anyway why didn't you show me the receipt for the 600 hp 351 cleveland?

yes my stang is faster than the laser.....it runs high 11s on motor with heads/cam/intake and the other ususal bolt ons....
 
oh yeah and on any engine its gonna take way more boost than 13 psi and a 75 shot to run 8s in the 1/4 mile.........now if you are talking 1/8 mile

please freeking Super Street outlaw mustangs (which run low 8s in the 1/4) are running close to 30 psi with cogged Procharger D3s and Vortech Z-trims so tell this guy to buy a clue
 
hey man, i'm not going to get defensive cuz i have no idea about mustangs.. these are just the things he talks about.. and my brother ain't giving me his timeslip because he says that he doesn't need to prove #@%#@%#@%#@% to you cuz he doesn't give a #@%#@%#@%#@% what you think.. his time is 8.90 at 151mph. and as for cobra cams i meant cobra cam and he took it from a cobra mustang and put it in the motor he has now.. i'm not even sure if it's the cleveland still.. he wanted a detroit than he wanted this than he wanted that.. i have no clue man.
and like i said those are just the things i've overheard.. i know his vortech ran 13psi at 6300rpm but he could have gotten a newer supercharger since.. i think he took 4 head carb out cuz he burned 100 bucks in gas in like 2 days and all this other stuff.. like i said i don't know.. i don't even know if he has the cleveland in there still.. because he was lookin at buying a 4.29boss engine from the 1971 boss mustang i think it was.. i will get him to write down all of his exact mods and i will type them out and send you a private message with them cuz i am sure everyone is getting sick of seeing us talk about mustangs on a dsm chat page

oh yeah and no factory Cobra R camshaft has 691 lift :rolleyes:

i hope that motor has a solid roller or something in it...custom ground for a blower........
 
again to say that we went completely off the subject at hand, all of a sudden we went off about mustangs, ok they are also cool, but this forum is to exchange info on our dsms. So no matter what car you drive and no matter what forum you are on, dont go to the extreme about bashing others, whether its a honda, dsm, mustang or other car, we all race and love to do it, we all do it different so leave it at that, express your opinion nice and exchange info and opinions, not bashing, if you dont i think as a whole everyone doesnt want you here.

all i know is he has a wheelie bar in the back and fat ass tires.. i'll private message you right now with all the other mods so we don't get any other tears cuz we talkin about real cars : ) (j/k i love my dsm)
 
the problem isnt you talking about "real cars" the problem is taking up our forum bashing the mustang guy about his build up, once in a while talking about different cars is fine, but all this bashing is pathetic, take that somewhere else.
 
i said i was just kidding about the "real cars" statement.. and i private messaged him with all the rest of the mods so you don't have to worry about it ne more.. and if you go ahead and read back you will see that 3 times i mentioned it wasn't bash each other website and it was dsmtuners.com meaning not mustang mods.com... i just wanted to clear that up.. i apologize for rambling on..
 
Someone can take a 350 c.i. V8 and get 500+ horses out of it without a turbo easily. Who's to say it can't be PROPORTIONALLY done with an inline 4cyl.... It just takes a different method. Cleared up intake and exhaust (including porting can be done by someone at home for about $50 for a p&p grinding kit), A mean Cam, injectors, ignition upgrades and some computer reprog work could get someone to the 250+ mark easy. But cams are expensive, and so is having chip-tuning done. Cams and Cam gears alone could break $1000 in most cases (at least ones good enough to add that kind of power). Theft puts a big discount on things though (not trying to say anything but suggesting all that stuff only cost $2500 or so would suggest some of it came to you with a BIG BIG discount.
And this is assuming that they can install everything themself. Maybe you just added your #'s wrong. Probably and estimated 250 more like 190 realisticaly and about 160 of those will make it to the ground for dynoing. It is nice to dream/think big isn't it....but we're talking real ##'s here.

And if you're mods are that good....then let us in on 'em....don't be shiesty we could all use that kind of power for that cheap...LOL

sorry I was reading the convo on the first page, and didn't realize there was 2 pages of newer posts. So it went right to the last spot.
 
gosh my turbo eclipse isnt even 250hp and i have an intake, exhaust and boost controller.... i've never had it dyno'd but it doesnt "feel" like anything over 200hp LOL..... its pretty quick

Which model Cavalier are you talking about? the Cavalier RS or Z24...The RS is a 2.2l and is rated at 115-120hp and 120-125fpt.... The Z24 is a 2.4l and is rated at 150hp and 155fpt... even the new 02 LS Sport with the 2.2 Ecotec is rated at I believe 140-145hp and 145-150fpt.
