96 420a with a built n/a motor check it out! - YouTube

i hope that link works properly, it should.

i just thought i would post a video with my car to give a better idea of my idle problem. i show it about half way through the video when i pull in my driveway. it only happens when i rev up and let off the pedal or pull out of gear to a stop. right towards the end my throttle sticks at 4k and it only does that sometimes but im not sure why it is. when that happens i have to put it in gear and let out the clutch half way then it drops, which you will see in the video. also my sound quality isnt great since it was off of my cell phone. it sounds like the car is breaking up in the rpms when i first take off but it actually isnt and runs great. just cant figure out why my idle drops every time.

Check your IAC and make sure all the wiring is all good. I would also check the check engine light and why your oil light is on. Also make sure that your throttle body is clean and it is closing properly. I would also check your fuel pressure.

I just put a new iac on about 6 weeks ago. My check engine light is always on because of the egr delete. The other light is my battery light not oil and that is on due to battery temp sensor. I don't know why that code comes up since I dont think I have a battery temp sensor. It hasnt gone off since I installed an aftermarket ecu. I have not done a fuel pressure check yet tho. Ill try that soon

Why did you delete your egr? Your fuel trims are going to be all out of wack. Thats a good way to f up a catylitic converter. You should still have the cel looked at, id bet that thetea more than one code stored.

Well I just took out my cat and put a full race exhaust in which has a resonator. I took the egr off for more power and run a cleaner motor. I live in az with no smog check. I will say since I took the cat out it has acted funny I also put a new downstream o2 sensor in. I had a miss fire the other day and this morning which was the day after the video my car had no power at all. Think I fouled my plugs? It sounded horrible and I havnt had time yet to check out the problem. I have another post on here from last week with everything that happend.

Did you change anything or put anything in right before this idle issue started?? If you put in a different ecu you should make sure that the ecu is iac compatible. Most cars just have a biss idle screw. It sounds alot like fuel pressure to me. I would definitely check that first.

Ever since the new motor was installed it has had an idle issue and before the motor install someone else owned the car. Just recently I hooked up my pcv and catch can which made it not drop down so hard when I let off the pedal. The ecu I have is for the same year as my car tuned by A/FX

I hope You get to the Bottom of you problem. Mine is idling the same way. Sometime it dont recover it will stall out. After stalling it will fire right back up. My motor ran fine before the rebiuld.
