with the fear of 2g's having crank walk in the higher miles and the 1g's simply getting old, what was the major difference in the new evo 4g63 asside from the hopefully redesigned/remeasured bottom end. i was wondering this because the thought of just putting the evo engine into a 1g has been on my mind. this though just came out of the dark and i know that finding an 03 evo engine is about as hard as finding an evo for $30. just a question

the evo engine is basically what the 1g 4g63 was established from. yet of course America has gone its route to make it legal here in the forms of emissions and establishing the fact that we run lower octane than over seas. but the evo 8 engine is hopefully not what your after by reading the end of your post its leaning toward that way. if your already in the stages of owning a 1g 4g63 your in the right path. the bottom ends are different in the terms of 7 and 6 bolt patterns. and that can be further researched in the search option on the top of the page. hope your coming across the answers you need. :thumb: and remember that search button will open a whole new window because theres at least 15-20 people who have asked any question you can come up with.

too much time, too much money . . . . I'm regurgitating what I've read here on the forum so by all means DO NOT quote me on it, but apparently it is near impossible to swap an evoVIII motor into our cars.

Starting with the fact that they crank in the other direction, and the list goes on.

the evo 8 into the car is yet a project but its no were infeasible. anything can be done with the right work but to actually spend money on that would be a waste.. so that no one is confused further on could you explain which evo motor your questioning.
