I started my car to let it idle in the garage. came back to a oil slik on my floor, look under car and saw oil coming form a weird spot. Ok if you are looking at front bottom of engine behind driver's side tire. You have tthe external part of the the oil pump that sennd oil to filter and oil cooler. To the left of the sending unit that faces downward, their is a big plug looking bolt. Does it have a particular purpose or can I remove it to replace with a regular plug. I have not removed it to see if something is attached to it, got tired after cleaning all the oil up. :coy:

isnt that the oil pressure sending unit? if it is, no. dont remove it. just go out and get a new one.

That sounds like the pressure releif valve. Have you tried to tighten it? They have an aluminum crush washer on them to seal but sometimes, the will work loose and leak. I have yet to see the crush washer fail unless it was removed and reinstalled. There in nothing attached to it but there is a spring and piston behind it that will fall out when removed. You need to keep the stock plug because a regular bolt will over compress the spring and cause too high of oil pressure.

92awddsm you are right I removed it tonight and put pipe dope on it and reinstalled it and the leak is gone. Time has come to do tuning
