WTF is wrong? Engine problems

Everytime my car is parked over night, this one thing always happens. When I go to start it, it starts up fine, until I step on the gas pedal. The RPMs go up to 2k and drop back down quickly. Even if I floor it, the RPMs go up to 2k (no higher) and drop back down quickly. When I start it up and this problem happens, I have to turn off the engine and after 10 minutes or so, the problem goes away, if I'm lucky.

I don't know what this problem is and I can't explain it any better, so can someone help me out with this?

pull out your ecu and check to see if there is any damage to it (leaking caps, etc.)
