It's your car, if you think it's worth it, then it's worth it. Buy a Kit, don't let the rest of the "performance" minded people intimidate you into thinking otherwise.

IMO the 2Gb, and 2Ga stock style is nice, but is boring, it's basically like everyone out there wearing white t-shirts. everyone looks the same, so everyone gets along, kinda like communism.

I have a 2Ga GSX, and Kept it stock for years, now it has 19"s, Mild upgrades, and a body-kit in progress.
My goals for the car are...

Reliability, Good Looks, and a bit of fun on the weekends.

I have absolutely no desire to "break" into the 10's, or carve up willow springs.

so it basically depends on what your goals are, what your streets look like, hows the weather, etc.

You know I was considering replacing my side skirts with some after market ones. Mine arent flush all the way with the rest of the body its not too noticeable but an eyesore to myself

IMO, I think you should put a body kit on if your car truly needs it or if your prepping to be in a car show. I also believe you should tastefully do it as well; make it better than the factory one, give it an unique/original look, and give it a nice paintjob all around. Good enough so it makes people say "Damn, that's a clean ass car!"

Other than that, It will attract alot of unwanted attention and definitely alot of laughs if incorrectly installed or poorly maintained. I definitley need a new kit myself. My factory one is beyond repair.

Be aware that they DO make the car much closer to the street, so if you hit a bump hard or high enough, kiss all that hard work goodbye. Oh yea, and with engine repairs, you have to be even that more careful so you dont ruin it, especially on a lift!

I think that a body kit would be hard to be tastefully done. I honestly wouldnt do a bodykit myself because mainly its hard to make a kit look like it belongs on the car in the first place

As long as you don't have it looking like 90% of the people I live by (fitment is terrible) then I say go for it. It's your car so do what satisfies you. Personally, I wouldn't spend the money on something that I feel isn't worth it. I think stock looks super clean. Fitment is #1 for me when it comes to aftermarket visual upgrades. I've seen so many cars rock what could have been nice bumper covers, like utter crud. I agree with leonthefaded. They appear to look cheap and plasticky as if they're about to fall off cause they just don't look like they belong. Also, I don't think you can make any aftermarket body kit look nice unless you're car is lowered. But then once you lower them, good luck trying to keep them from breaking . Just my two cents.

^ absolutely true, But that's why they get expensive, buying a full kit, costs generally around 500-600 bucks with shipping.

Unless you have the experience, and time to cut/fit and otherwise modify a kit to maintain a "factory" tolerance look, then be prepared to pay a good body shop bucks.

I've had plenty of kits, on numerous makes of cars, but where I live in California, our roads aren't littered with potholes, we don't see snow, and unless we run into a steep driveway, or road debris then kits last.

Do what you want there are kits I like and some I don't like blitz I hate it but vader I love. Plus most people on here go by what's cool in japan most of the time but don't realize....kits are back in japan. Good kit and some rims and be done then build engine. Most people short of dsmers can't tell the difference from a turbo or non turbo in stock form with out poping hood or looking at gauge cluster. But a body kit will make it obvious if its turbo or not as you will not see side mount intercooler but an empty space. So I say if you like it do it.

to be honest.. i personally like the stock clean look lowered with rims and thats it. I feel like a body kit takes away from the factory look and how the car is truely meant to look, and takes away from the true beauty of the car that made you buy it in the beginnning.

Don't do it. Because when you grow out of it and want to take it off, it is much much harder. Not to mention it costs a lot more to install.

And "BOOM" goes the dynomite! This is why I'm keeping mine stock and clean (respectable). Some hacked up euro trash body kit is just going to make people laugh at your car. However, do what makes you happy. like everyone said its expensive to make it look clean you could spend that money on performance and make somone go. WOW!

Sure you could. If you have a 2ga eclipse with a gray trim across the bottom, top color factory and add a third stripe in there.... Ugly.....

2gb with a lip, now that can't go wrong.

There is no way you can seriously be a serious poster -- it says you edited it for grammer, whatever that is, maybe you meant grammar. If you did mean grammar, why is it pretty much unreadable -- could it have really been worse before editing it?

Body kits are fine. It's personal preference, and there are a few that look good on these cars.

Whatever you do, please do not EVER get a blitz kit or feel free to toss in the 'knock off blitz names' They are disgracefully ugly on our cars, and everyone and there mother had one because of exactly the comment above....FNF baby!

Someone mentioned the wide body kit that's like 27 pieces or something crazy. It has some ricey points, but over all is really a way to have a nice unique kit.
