I have a basic question. Do I need a working speedometer to use the NLTS function with a DSM Chip? On their website it says it is activated under certain speeds, etc. Do they mean engine speed (RPM) or do they mean vehicle speed (MPH)? My speedometer doesn't work and I don't care to fix it (I don't go over 30mph in City).

I have no idea, but I would venture to guess that it's engine speed. If you're racing, you're going to want to use NLTS in first gear, which most only go to say ~27-31mph. I'm sure it'll work then since that's what it's made for. Engine speed sounds more logical.

With dsmlink the nlts doesn't need the speedometer to work. I think it will be the same with a chip. That is what the clutch wire mod is for. The stutterbox and antilag go off of the speed sensors( what gives the speedometer input). So, the stutterbox on your chip probably won't work unless you fix the problem. Do you know why it is broke?

The dsm chip nlts uses engine rpm. I'm willing to bet your speedometer cable is broken. You can get a new one at Advance Auto Parts for less than $30.00. It only takes like 30 minutes to change it no big deal.

Thanks big time. This is kind of off topic but. Since I have a 90 GST I will need to do the clutch wire mod to get it to work correct?
