Well let me start off by saying its taken me a few months to complete this project just because ive been working approximently 60 hours a week and been tied up with other things. Plus, I wanted to make sure everything was perfect. Well I completed my timing belt job today, jumped the car to my truck since the battery was dead, and it doesnt want to start. It does sound good turning over, and it tries to start, it seems like its about to fire up but then just doesnt go. I checked to make sure everything is in line again and it all looks good. Im thinking im missing something stupid and small or overlooked something so im asking you for your ideas. Any help is much appreciated.

check for spark and check for fuel, make sure all your plugs are pluged in(electrical).if everything is cool than it has to be timing.

Some of my overlooked items over the years :sosad:

-MPI Fuse blown or removed?
-Are all the connectors on the battery on and tight?
-Plug wires in the right order?
-Camshaft marks are facing each other (i.e. 3 and 9 o'clock) at TDC?
-There is gas in the car ;)

/\ good points. I'm going with plug wires in the wrong order, this happened to me after I put in a headgasket and sat there for half an hour completely stumped, I was sure that I had them in the right order, but I didnt...

There is no MPI fuse in 2g - I'm going to bet on cam or crank sensor depending on
response to the spark/ fuel question.

Ok I just got done checking for fuel and spark. Definently getting it on all 4 cyls so thats not the problem. I guess the next step is to tear it back down and re-check that all the timing marks are aligned?

Ok well I tore it all down again and somehow I ended up off I think about 3 teeth. How i dont know, somewhere when I was resetting the tension it must of slipped without me knowing. I reset it back how it should be and I got it started and running great! :) Couldnt be happier. Nice to hear it running again. Thanks for your input and help guys!
