my 16G boosts nice at about 16lbs but when you crank it up anywhere past it winds but then cuts out. I already have a larger fuel pump and injectors? anybody know what i can do to run more boost sucessfully? thanks

You need some electronics to control those larger injectors. The ECU doesn't know you replaced them and will open those higher flowing injectors for the same amount of time as the lesser flowing stockers, making you run rich. Also, when you upgrade a fuel pump whether it be a 190lph or a 255 or more, you really should add an aftermarket high flow adjustable fuel pressure regulator. The stock FPR can't always regulate the increased fuel flow back to the tank effectively and is often overrun by larger than stock pumps. Overrun is when the return flow of fuel is insufficent to keep fuel pressure in check and especially as the boost goes up, the fuel pressure shoots sky high, and you run rich.

You may be hitting fuel cut because you have reached that airflow limit, remember that fuel cut is determined by the ECU based on airflow. Most likely you have increased airflow because of a boost leak, but it is possible you've hit it at that boost level you're at since you have no airflow offset for your larger injectors, like an SAFC or MAFT provides. A boost leak, if bad enough, can also limit the maximum boost level you can reach with a particular turbo. The 1G CBV should be able to hold about 20 psi or a little more before it becomes a boost leak, however that's not to say it can't leak below that.

You need to do a boost leak test first and foremost, and get an SAFC or MAFT and a datalogger.

You may also have an issue with your wastegate. The opening that the flapper sits against often becomes cracked on mitsubishi internally gated turbos, this is a known weak spot. Another possibility is that the flapper is not closing all the way or is being blown open by high exhaust pressure. If the wastegate is your problem, you may notice much slower spool up than normal or quickly dropping / fluctuating boost levels when exhaust pressure increases as rpms rise.

have you put an aftermarket bov on? my stock BOV would let me boost to 12psi and from then off it just bogged out...not sure if it is something usefull in this topic as i am new to this but i had a similar problem.

1g's came with a heartier BOV which has proven itself to the upper reaches of 20psi. However, that's not to say the car is not leaking from somewhere.

Stock fuel has nothing to do with your issue here, and upgrading without proper supporting mods will only cause you problems.

Something to control your fuel mods and a BLT are the priorities here.
