i just got my 4th dsm and this car was supposed to have an aftermarket Fuel pump already installed but from my experience all FPs are at least somewhat noisy. The pump in the car is silent so im wondering if there is really one in there.. It has a big 16g on it and i just put 550s in it but before i start boosting it i want to make sure all is up to par. does anyone know of a way to tell what pump is in there without opening it up? or is there no such way.

thanks for any info
Joe

Ha, 45 minutes, I honestly hope that it goes smoothly enough to only take 45 mins.

I'd pull it as well, so you know for the future. But as for boosting, I'd just keep a close eye on things if you don't have time to check that pump. It doesn't matter what the fuel pump says on the sticker, it's weather your engine's getting enough fuel that matters.

I have a 190 and i can hear it just on warm start ups(when the rpm doesn't go over 850).

If you have a logger, just try turning the fuel pump on with that and listen for it. If it's a Walbro, you'll know it. As for the other brands, I don't know how they sound?

I'm jealous. If ONLY my fuel lines were as easy to manage as yours. Mine was a 3 hour ordeal. I was swearing and throwing things--and that was when it was going well!
Oh to live somewhere without rust......

Getting to the FP in my GST- a breeze.
