Wiseco HD1400 pistons??

You really aren't going to gain any performance from installing a forged piston. They WILL handle higher horsepower than the standard weisco pistons.

They are more for longevity than adding hp. They are the upgrade for high boost and nos. I would recommend them or some nice JE pistons but I like the coated side skirts wiseco come with.

I just bought a set of these pistons they're really nice but i have a question how is the expansion them they are .20over would the machine shop would have to make the bore a lilttle bigger .20 i want them to fit perfect on my block.

if your goals arent over 600 hp there a waste of money for there price you can buy piston rod combo and the 10.5 to1 are for e85 or c16 and will be really picky when it comes to a high boost tune. i wouldnt recommend these if your just an average dsm'er

Well im going to be pushing the limits on my 20g turbo, i already have my supporting mods for these pistons plus i got them in a good deal, i dont really car about money. I want my build to be perfect. I already have my tranny rebuild plus other good things.

if its your perfect build than go for it. But if your gonna use these pistons you might as well run turbo tuff i beams if your looking for room to grow motor wise but running this set up will handle way more than your 20g

Not to mention the 10.5:1 compression pistons they sell (if they are the one's I own), aren't 10.5:1 compression unless you use them in a 4g64 with a 4g63 head. Is the part number K656M855 by chance?

This new strutted 1400HD forging has been developed for turbocharged methanol Mitsubishi 4g63 engines, making 350+ horsepower per cylinder. Got a large aftermarket turbo, tubular manifold, high compression, nitrous, and methanol injection? - no problem. The forging has been designed around special 21mm and 22mm tool steel pins of .225” wall thickness.

these are also made for the 4g63 but read the post above they are overkill and not worth it if running hbeam rods

It does not really matter. Honestly I'd run these on a h beam and here's here are guys that do. The higher compression is completely do able on 93 pump gas. You can run lower boost to make the same amount of power. Tune is the most important thing. They might be over kill now but say a year goes by and you got a bottle on the car and a 6262 or bigger making over 650 plus.

I did the same thing. B16g, 57t, 60-1, gt42. My new motor will be going in next week. I went from a 2.4 standard wiesco eagle combo. Straight 93 it made 621 which is over 700 at the crank. When I pulled that motor apart and cc'd the head it came out to 42cc's which made my compression out 9.5:1. I ran upwards of 36psi on 93 with total timing around 14 degrees. Just some food for thought

meth injection on this set up ? thats good numbers wich turbo was that with?

No meth straight 93 octane from the cheapest station I could find. It was on a gt4294 JB. It was set on 30 32psi and ran 36 if I was feeling frisky on pump. Compression was 9.5:1. Made 621 29-30psi. Lower timing standard Wiseco/eagle 2.4. New motor is a 2.4 Manley I beam/Wiseco hd combo

wow who tuned the car ? and you still pulled 14* you had room to grow with meth ive personally never seen someone run that set up. i must say you have more balls than i do ROFL

Ohh curse thats why i got them when i get tired running the limits of my 20g turbo ill sell it get a 30r turbo. My pistons are 9.1 compression idid't get the 10.5 thats too high for me anyways good luck to anyone doing a build this winter.

There is no such thing as over kill, power is addictive and you always want more. You say well i only want 400hp out of this build, shit i guarantee you when you get there you will want more. Its good to know your engine can handle anything you throw at it,

I didn't "pull" 14 degrees. I was running 14 degrees (aem ems)total ramping up from 10 after peak torque. I tuned it. I just always had a goal of going low 10s high 9 on straight 93.

I never turned it up on my last setup because of the 8 year old internals I was messing with. After 3 years at 30+ psi and then spraying it for the auto setup it's last year it melted a piston. Never saw a drop of meth/e85 or race gas.

If you got the money get them. If you plan on going bigger get them. Plan for the worst.

I got my 1400HD's for less than the standard set of Wiseco pistons. I don't understand why all of these people keep saying they are a waste? The only thing that could be negative about these is price, other than that there is nothing wrong with building a motor stronger than your power goals. Then your not pushing the limits all the time and as already stated you won't have a problem when your power goals change.

if you can get them for a deal i say go for it but not 10.5:1 thats gonna be hard to tune if not really experienced and running pump gas but the 9.0:1 id go for it
