I'm buying a 92 tsi tomorrow, YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Black, 14b turbo, new intercooler piping, full exhaust, intake, brakes, full suspension, new 6 bolts motor, new tranny, the 14b is new, z-rated tires, all for $2800. Theres some minor problems, but nothing major. He has a time slip for a 14 flat, so that aint bad.

That sucks, i have all my work done right here in town, all i need is here, . One question, do the exhaust manifold bolts on a turbo, screw into the head, or come out of the head, two of them on the tsi i'm getting a broken off(the manifold is in there, the bolts broke with plenty left outside the head). I want to replace those when i get a header.

But to answer your question: The exhaust manifold studs go into the head and stick out. Slip on the gasket, manifold, and thread on the nut. Most likely, the studs broke while removing the rusted nut. You're lucky that there's some left so you can remove them. Otherwise, if they broke off inside the head, you'd have to drill and tap them out. Also, I suggest stainless steel replacements and hardware from SBR or other online DSM shops.

I'm waiting to update my profile until all the money and car is transfered, its not mine yet(i don't have the title either). I'm waiting on parental approval(like my big words, haha.) All of the heat shield bolts are gone(broke inside the manifold), i was thinking i could just take the manifold off, dremel down 2 sides of the bolt, and use a channel lock to unscrew it. Does ARP make studs for this, i have a preference for the best stuff, and cost isn't to big for me, my car is where all my money goes, so its nothing new. I guess i will update though, my profile i mean.
