As far as communication goes, We can have everyone that wants to keep in touch buy some one of those Motorola Walkie-Talkies with the 8 Mi talking distance ( http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3918256 ) and we can all just tune into the same channel.

And, For the Rally Round the lake...Could I join with the group at a different point in the rally? Just in case I feel that my DSM wont make it all the way from chicago to stevens point, and then around and back. I could maybe join for the last portion thru southern michigan and around through indiana and back to chicago...

yes, anyone can join in at any time along the course, we'll get you our contact info at a later date

for those NOT living near stevens point, my basement is up for sleeping in the night before, just bring a sleeping bag. and so is the back yard if you have a tent. i can easily sleep enough people in my basement that night before if anyone wants to do that. just PM me when the time gets closer and we'll set it up

good question, but i gotcha covered! as long as no one needs to leave halfway through the night, we can git 6 in the driveway, i live on a dead-end, another 6+, and Bukolt park is in my backyard... 300ft away. enough room for 60+ cars. yup, got it covered!

Ok if anybody is lost on what was going on in this thread, it was to organize a dsm meet in Wisconsin Rapids and the date is set at June 17th. So all of you wisconsinites out there with a DSM come to Wisconsin Rapids and enjoy the meet! (Non-Wisconsinites welcome)

Back on topic, for those of us that have completely forgotten... the meet on June 17th is in Wisconsin Rapids. But where is it again? and what time? any events we should be aware of?

Well, Still thinking of a place to have the meet. Either at this park by Lake Nepko or there is also one by Lake Wizicha (I know I mis-spelled that). Kurt, if you have any idea here, let me know. As far as time, Probably around 3-5pm on saturday. Have a cook-out and eat some burgers and brats and check eachother's cars out. Then later head over to Point where a lot of other people with nice cars like to meet up at. I will keep everyone posted as to where the cook-out/car show is.

you could call the parks dept and check on how much $$ it is to rent out the small lodge at Lake Wazeecha. that'd be a nice place. 4-8pm sounds like a better time. people don't show up at the location in St Pt until at least 10pm-ish. if anyone has a boat or jetskis, it'd be fun to start this shindig a little earlier and have some water activities during the day on the lake as well.

sweet, I have a friend that has the beefed up wave runner and its just crazy. Maybe can talk him into coming. I will call the park and see if I can get something set up there. Never been out there myself but I have heard its very nice out there.

i know this is off topic again, but i'm doing the math and want some ideas for the rally here... i'm basing everything on 2ppl per car, and want to know what are everyone's thoughts on hotel choices for Friday & Saturday nights?

another thing i'd like opinions on is how many people want to stay in a room? i'll gladly put 4 people total in my room each night. but i know some people are picky. so what are your thoughts on this.

Friday: we're looking at just under $50/person, assuming 4ppl/room

Saturday: after the HIN show? i'm thinking someplace close-by, walking distance preferably. that way we can get into chi-town, park the cars, check in, and walk to the show. however, the best deal close by (that's not total ghetto) is the Travel-Lodge Downtown @ $30/person with 4ppl/room. (+$18 per car for parking)

sorry to barge in AGAIN on this thread, but this is going to take a TON of planning to get this right. and i'm assuming there's a good 20+ or so people going (10+ cars, 2ppl/car) and we're going to need a good 5-6 rooms at each hotel. so i'd like to start making reservations within the next month or so, and i would prefer this to be well organized so it all goes smoothly at each checkpoint. thanks again for everyones thoughts, ideas, and opinions. I live abou 25-30 Min from McCormic place. I'll offer up my house for some people who dont want to pay the hotel fee. I have enough room for about 10 people. And yes that includes about 10 cars.

Damn wish i could be there, But i wont be back in wisconsin until september. After i get back from Iraq then im out of the Fing Marine Corps. Hope you guys have fun and let me know when the next dsm meet will be in wisconsin. Im from south eastern WI. Anyone know of Walworth county??

Since Andy was thinking of having the meet from 3-5 and Devilish wants it from 4-8, lets just have it 3-8 so then we can fit in some water activities and other stuff. Maybe get some video games going in the evening.

I can come and help for the 17th meet no problem. Lake Wazecha is very nice, and could make for some great pictures in the woods. For the rally, i am still boarder line for it. I don't have a passenger lined up now, so cost will kill if i don't have one.

Just a thought on the RRTL.....im sure the HIN show is at Soldier Field instead of the Mc Cormic place. I know it doesnt change much as far as planning goes but just wanted to let everyone know its NOT at Mc Cormic place....but Soldier Field instead.....so if we are going to plan on getting a hotel close....i adree with devilish to start planning now so everything goes smooth and we dont have many complications.
