Yes, i know it is at Soldier Feild, and a hotel within 1 mile has already been scoped out. unfortunately, it's nothing high end, but rather "Travel Lodge Downtown". And it's still like $150/nights

What are everyones thoughts on staying 4ppl/room in the hotels? i have no problems with that. but that will determine the pricing structure. i want to make it simple, and the SAME for everyone.

~~~~~~
what TalonTSIDriver is talking about sending me a paypal is as follows:
I would like to get everything organized and set up a paypal acct for everyone to register for this event. That way I can take care of all the details so everyone is on the same page when we leave.
Your registration payment will cover ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:
- Hotel stay at both locations (MI & Chicago)
- HIN Tickets
- Vehicle registration (Identification magnets & decals)
- 1 t-shirt, (extra shirts available upon request)
- Directory of other vehicles (driver name, car, phone #'s, etc)
- Trip itinerary
- Trip maps
- DVD compilation & pictures of the entire trip
- Probably a few more things
Right now, it's looking around the $200 range PER PERSON!! so you need to register both you and your passengar(s) if you have one. but remember, all you have left then is gas & food (and spending cash). everything else should be covered. this is NOT a money making scheme for me or anyone else. i'm estimating at least 20+ persons (10+ cars w/ 2ppl each). there is a TON of planning that will be going on here. i am NOT including any extra $$ to cover my time even. it is strictly costs. the hotel i'm looking at in MI is on the Lakeshore of Lake Huron, and we'll all be getting waterfront suites w/ 4ppl/room. I'm not going too cheap on this trip.
well, except for the chicago hotel. there is nothing under $265/night anywhere close by Soldier Field except the Travel Lodge. which looks decent. but any locals down there please tell me otherwise. (also expect $20 parking per car when in Chicago, not included in registration)
I've estimated gas prices at $200/car, assuming 20mpg. so split that with your passengar(s). as for food, i'm planning to pack some sandwhiches and gatorade, etc. but of course still plan to spend probably $50 on food.
More details will be given on this very soon I hope. Registration will then start immediately. Please Email Me NOW though at [email protected] to let me know if your even interested. Please include total # of people in your car. that way i can get a good idea of what I should expect for planning this all out.
Once again, thanks for reading all of that. And check back soon for updates
Respectfully,
~Kurt
I suggest posting a new thread for the RRTL so this one can focus on the meet in June just to clean things up a bit.
i agree. i will do so probably later this weekend once i have a few more things figured out.
thanks
~Kurt
Kurt, I suggest getting an exact dollar amount for everything. I know you said approx. $200 per person. But if we could call around, get exact estimates on everything, that way we can start paying now, that would be nice. You are right, this will take a lot of organizing to do, so if you need an extra hand on getting things organized or you want to put me in charge of somthing, let me know. I would like to help out being that "Highline Motorsports" is involved. If there is anything I can do Kurt, let me know. My number is the same as my brothers, just last 4 are 9999.
Thanks
-Alex
-Highline Motorsports
Thanks Alex, i have a lot of exact prices already on hand.
-hotel
-shirts
-HIN tickets
-identifications (magnets/decals)
there are still a lot of variables that need to be worked out. can i get a deal for 8 hotel rooms vs 4? HIN tickets bulk buy of 20+ tickets? decals/magnets only need to be purchased 1x for a car, but with some cars carrying 2 people, and some riding solo, i need to average this out. I have a really really good idea of what it will be per person, and i assure everyone it is NO MORE than previously mentioned. honestly, it's looking like a little less than that.
I will definetely be needing some help from you and andy. I'll email you shortly with some details.
Thank you HIGHLINE MOTORSPORTS for your co-operation
~Kurt
err, this thread died huh? so much talk, then nothing. so, happy lame v-day.
both events are currently still being planned. the June 17th meet is looking like a nice event with some good activities. those living close by with boats or jet-skis should contact www.DSMSupport.com to help out and enjoy the day even more
The rally details have also been posted at www.DSMSupport.com, and the online registration forms should be up later this week. Contact me with any questions. We will be starting a new thread for this event soon. look for it.
thanks all
~Kurt
Another thing too Kurt that I would like to point out is at the June 17th meet in Wisconsin Wrapids is that there will be an audio contest hosted by Mobile Link. There will be a prize awarded determined by the judges (whom ever that may be).
Kurt, I think we should do a couple more contests as far as:
1. Nicest ride
2. Unique
I don't exactly know, but we should think of maybe a couple other awards to give out, that way for all those stock or N/Ts out there have a chance to show off. :sneaky:
We will be traveling and recording videos of the meet as well as a cruise over to Stevens Point where we can hook up with the late night meets (if you know what I mean). OMG
Just a couple of ideas I would like to extend towards your guy's way. And what did happen to this thread, we were extending this thread a page a day, and for the last two days, its been dead.:confused:
I'm not gonna lie. i thought it was dead too..LOL i have checked it every day to see but there was nothing new..
Aronius................Aronius on both accounts...............just to let everyone know........my car was stock.............except for intake and I didnt drive. My brother Andy was the one driving and was not used to the "stock" turbo. So he wasn't shifting right. (He had a 16g on the car he had at the time). We offered him a rematch cause my brother failed to shift at the proper RPMs, but then "T.J" got all whatever you want to call it and then wanted to put money on it. So we said screw it.
Eric, ask T.J. if he wants to race me again? I will defintly be down for it.
I don't know if he us up for somthing like this.
Andy, If its cool I might come up a day or two early. Just so I have some time if the DSM decides to be a biatch. Hit me up on MSN next time were both on, we need to talk about about my motor.
Really looking forward to both of these events, If everything goes to plan I'll have 3-4 DSM's with me.
Its "COME ON UP". Not down.......:toobad: :p
hey Devlish, what are we looking at for a final due date on money and all that for the RRTL. Me and my girlfriend are pretty interested.
The absolute deadline is end of June. But it would be best to register before then so you are assured a spot. We only have like 10 hotel rooms reserved so if you really want to go, sign up. The registration form wont be up for a few days. but as soon as its up, I'll post the URL for it. For more details though, go to: http://www.dsmsupport.com/rrtl2006.html
Andy
Do you have to have the money when you register or just some time before hand? I was just wondering because I am going to cancun in 2 weeks.
To ensure that you will be in the RRTL, the money must be sent. It does not HAVE to be right after you register, but it would be prefered to keep things a little more organized and so Kurt(devlish) KNOWS that you are going for sure.
yeah. what he said.^^ we're limiting it to the first 20 cars this year. I'd prefer the money when you register just so i can keep things straight, but a 50% non-refundable deposit will be acceptable as well, with final payment then due within 60days. we have all the paypal info on the bottom of the registration form. if you prefer NOT to use PayPal, please email me and i'll get you my address for a money order. (or cash if you live close by)
as for the registration form, we hope to have it up and running this week. we'll update this thread once it's there and working properly. we'll also have info there on the different packages you can purchase for the rally, the deadlines, and cancellation fees that may apply.
as for the meet in June, yeah a video of the event and the cruise to Point would be great. prefereably no video of the events later that night... to protect the innocent (and the guilty).
this should be a good summer! again, those interested in the rally, please email me at [email protected] and let me know if your interested in attending. that way i'll have a good idea of how many people there are. also, you'll get an email update when things happen and be kept in the loop with any pertanant details.
enjoy the warm weather!
