why do you need an amp to power a tweeter?
 
Its hard to tell if you're using stock equipment only or whether you have new component speakers and an amp?
If you didnt have new stuff I can't think of why you're messing around with it anyhow, so here's my two cents.

Get an aftermarket deck.
Run NEW RCA's from the deck to your amp
Run NEW 14-16ga. speaker wire from your amp to you crossover.
Run NEW 14-16ga. speaker wire from your crossover to your woofer.
Use the provided wiring to connect your tweets to the crossover.

Ensure proper installation of amp (4-8ga. wire is nice) and double check your grounds.
Set the amp to HighPass and turn down the gain BEFORE powering it up and tune to your ears delight.

yes u can do this. but if ur not gonna run it through a crossover first then ur not gonna screw up the amp ur gonna fry the tweet. make sure that the mid and tweet are 4 ohm at the crossover if thats what ur amp is stable at on one channel. run the other side the same way to get 4 ohm stereo.
 
I have a 4 channel 1000w amp powered by 4 gauge wire to 2 Boston Acoustic 6X9s in back and Infinity components in front. I am not using a sub, I was just looking for some nice clean sound. The "tweeters" I am talking about in front are stock and I am starting to think they are small full range speakers so I have to look into that before I do anything else.
 
Ok so, you're running your amp in bridged mode to power the 6x9s?

If you take it out of briged mode, that will give you 250W peak per chan. Your 6x9's wont have the same kick,(depending on the max wattage they can hold) and you're going to blow that poor stock paper tweet to shreads with 250W peak.

Sounds like you should just buy better door speakers and run them off the amp instead of the tweets. Then run the tweets off the head unit, that will sound the best.

I don't know how the stock headunit works, I never bothered to use it.

Nope, I am running the amp in 4X mode and each speaker is getting 250w. I just didn't know what to do with the 5th and 6th speakers. Sounds like I am going to buy a cap for the tweeters and run them off of the front channel.
