Can anyone point me to where I would buy the aftermarket harness to use the infinity amp with an aftermarket deck? I already bought a harness that connects to the deck itself, but I was told I'd need another one by a fellow eclipse owner. He just couldn't remember where he got his.

--edit--

Or, if anyone knows how to rewire it so that you don't have to USE the amp, I'd be much appreciative. I'd rather not have to use it at all, and would love nothing more than to get rid of the thing. I have done a couple searches on this site, but what I find is somewhat confusing.

Since I was replacing speakers, I utilized the factory speaker wire. Remove the passenger seat, then remove the speakers. Look at the wire color in the doors versus the plug at the factory amp location. Run speaker wire from the after market deck to under the passenger seat and T-tap away!

Using the stock amp is better than an aftermarket deck powering speakers. People dont realize this because not a lot go thru the hassle to find the MITAH adapter so you can hook up stock amp to aftermarket deck.

Also bypassing the amp altogether and having your aftermarket deck power your speakers, you willl lose the dash speakers, and teh sound field will sound inferior to stock, but having an aftermarket deck your mind will be telling you it still sounds better.

If you are planning to get a 4 channel amp in the future, then don't go thru the trouble, but if you dont see yourself getting a 4 channel amp in the future, use the one you alreayd have, the stock one, get the MITAH adapter, easy to hook up too, you don't even need that deck harness anymore, because you only ocnnect ground/power/and something else, and the audio is fed with the rcas.

It sounds noticeably and significantly better than having an aftermarket deck power your speaks, aftermarket or stock. No matter how expensive the deck is, I've heard $300-400 decks to cheap $99 decks MOSFET crap built in and they still sound like crap. They put out the same rms power, like 5w or something. No one still has a concrete spec on how much the stock amp puts out, but your ears will know what sounds better. And I've experienced them both.

If you are looking for super budget that will surprise people, do what I mentioned. Get the Mitah adapter, upgrade your speakers, and your aftermarket deck hopefully has seperate non-fade sub out and get a seperate amp for your sub. So you have your stock 4 channel inifinity amp powering your speaks, and a seperate amp for a sub. This is ultra budget, but will sound good enough for someone who doesnt really care but wants the best for cheap.

Car audiophiles will disagree, but I'm just seeing it from your perspective. My black gsx got a lil more love, with aftermarket 4 channel amp for speaks, seperate mono amp for sub, 5v preouts, seperate sub nonfading out, cap etc.

my red beater gsx, will have the cheap setup i mentioned, because my black one HAD the setup you intend to opting to, which is aftermarket deck powering aftermarket speaks, and i had another amp for sub. It sounded horrible, the sound field was all in the rear, and the subs were overpowering the speakers. The MITAH adapter can be had for $10-20 on ebay.
