I am venting right now until I get my recirculation kit and I am jsut wondering if my car will be slower? If I go to the track venting and then recirculating will I notice a difference in times?

Maybe, run it both ways and find out. That would be interesting comparison.

There really isn't a performance difference between venting/not venting. Here's whats happening though:

Every time you shift, your motor gets a mouthful of increadibly rich air/fuel charge. This extreme richness washes oil off the cylinder walls and contaminates the oil with fuel and deposits. This reduces the oil longevity and makes the filter work harder and constequently not filter for as long and as well as it could. So no, the performance will stay the same, but your engine will wear out faster because of this.

On a stock setup vented, yes. With a blow-through or VPC setup, no. Simply because the air being vented is metered on a stock setup. One reason why oil change intervals have gone up in recent decades is due to the accuracy of fuel injection over carburation. A more precise fuel ratio leads to less contaminates and longer oil/internals life. Isn't technology great?

At least you realize it will make the car run differently, and this wasn't a "how do I vent" thread.
