so dont yell at me just keep in mind im new to dsm's but not new to cars, formerly owned boosted mustangs, lsx engines etc... trying the dsm thing out. heres what ive ordered for parts so far (havnt orderd it all yet but alot of it i have).. i know the list is long but i wanna make sure i get everything right i dont know about spool times on 4 cylinders LOL give me a v8 and a s475 and ill go to town but i just dont know and thats why im asking.

i may be missing a few minor things but thats the most of it..
my question is would a garret .60 trim be a good option?

i was looking at this one

i know its a cheap one but if it will last a little i dont mind upgrading later? i just want a good spool up i wanna run a fair amount of boost i dont mind pushing parts the car is a toy and if it breaks it breaks. i was thinking maybe a 20g but maybe t3/t4 is a better option? what do you guys think max power on a 20g is?
 
id love a daily driven mid 10 second car but i dont know what is realistic when it comes to these, if i could get consistent low 11's id be happy could i get there with that setup i dont rlly feel like spending much more money than that.. ill buy a garret .60 trim, but a 20g would be cheaper overall because i dont have to buy another header since i already have a pacesetter and my j pipe will work.
 
better off getting a holset hx35 with a t3 decided 12 cm housing. Or the bep t3 housing for it. Can be had for around $300 or less and can out perform the 20g. Couple guys running 10s with it.
 
my buddy has the stock hx35 off his cummins he will probably give it to me stock housing will be ok? will it take me into the high 10's? im not saying the turbo alone i dont want to sound like an idiot. i mean can the turbo support enough awhp to put my car into the high 10's?
 
bwhite and Mr.peepers are the ones I know running 10s on the hx35.

bwhite if I remember right is running 10.6 10.7s? And Mr peepers is running 10.5s on the stock housing.
 
alright HX35 it is ill ask him tonight. as long as i know its capable.

edit: he told me his HX has an internal gate does any1 know what the psi is on this gate and how would i eliminate it and go external if the pressure isnt low enough? also he said its an HX35W he said..

edit... did some research stock wastegate pressure is 23 psi if its california emissions otherwise its 29psi .. can i run that with no external gate? it would save me a few hundred LOL im pretty sure 23 is do able but idk about 29 even with head studs and mls gaskets LOL
